I was in my usual solo run, when suddenly I entered the Glooming Woods and got a quest. Since then I've journeyed all the way to the boss room. I'm just waiting for my energy to recharge enough before I go in.

I'm using max heat 2 star equips: Brandish, Plate sheild, Skelly suit, and Magic hood. I also have a 3+ vitapack

My question is, is this bad boy soloable at my level? or should I give up and go home?

He's the easiest boss fight

He's the easiest boss fight in the game. Just shield/dodge all his attacks until he gets near the center bell, hit the bell to stun him and attack until he turns black/invulnerable again. Rinse and repeat.

Don't bother with dodging.

Don't bother with dodging. Just shield next to the bell until he goes near it.

Be aware that he has odd behaviors around the bell. Sometimes he'll walk near it and just when you're about to hit the bell, he'll back off out of range.

Other times he'll be sitting right next to the bell when it goes off, but won't get stunned. Then he bites you for 8 bars of damage.

Yeah I saw that, I thought

Yeah I saw that, I thought that it was just the range that was funky since every time I hit it I made sure he was within range but it didn't affect him. And sometimes it hit him underground which I didn't understand at all.

@Noctuelle - He seems to be

@Noctuelle - He seems to be immune to the bell while he's doing an attack animation. If you see him going into an attack, you can try to tough it out until he's finished, and *then* hit the bell. This seems to work for me.

The one that gets to me is when the bell *does* work, but he immediately dives underground where you can't touch him...

@ Kathoric - Hmm...

@ Kathoric - Hmm... interesting point with that "imunity while the attack animation lasts". Makes a sense to me, gotta watch it next time.
Then the question is, whether this was intended or not :)

Umm, while we're on the

Umm, while we're on the topic—and this may sound stupid to some of you, but—how do you lure Snarbolax out in the first place?

I seem to have encountered it so many times near the bell, but he always disappeared right before I hit the bell, making me unable to battle the beast.

Wait in the middle shielded

Wait in the middle shielded up till he's charging up his bite combo and hit the bell, rinse and repeat.

I see, but that is if I do

I see, but that is if I do fight against it. I never could. When I stepped on the "button", I was always locked with regular Wolvers, but never Snarbolax (hence I never battled it). The creature appeared for a second near the bell and disappeared right away. How do I make myself locked with Snarbolax?

You weren't even in the place

You weren't even in the place then. He is at the last depth of Tier 1 (at the right gate of course). You just weren't at the end yet.
