Hi I'm fairly new to the game, started playing with a few friends and we can slay Snarbolax with ease, and everything up to Royal Jelly with ease in our 2/3* gear. I'm currently going for Bristling shields and Wolver set with an Ascended Calibur. I'm just wondering what order I should do this in. I currently have Wolver Cap, Dusker Coat, Tempered Calibur, and I'm 3 Frumious Fangs away from Bristling Buckler. In what order, if it matters, should I be upgrading my items?

Was thinking of crafting the 4* sword first, buying a Dusker Helmet next, upgrading my Bristleback Buckler, then upgrading everything to 4*. Thinking about getting my last 3 Frumious Fangs, then just farming Tier 2 instances til we're geared enough to slay the Tier 2 bosses. I'm not missing anything in Tier 1 am I?

I have all 4* gear (Ascended

I have all 4* gear (Ascended Calibur, Ash Tail Set, Mighty Defender, Spike Shower). The way that I did it was by doing the sword first, then shield, then the cap, then coat, then the bomb. I would recommend going in this path: shield -> sword -> cap or coat -> cap or coat -> secondary weapon. My reasoning for this is that a strong shield will protect you, then the sword will protect by attack, then the cap and coat will protect if you happen to get hit and the secondary because that one usually changes (at least for me). Also, try to upgrade the Wolver Cap to Dusker before anything else, this is so things become more even and advanced.

It doesn't really matter that

It doesn't really matter that much. What I did was just upgrade whatever recipes Basil was going to offer to me first =)

I agree with samshimi.

I agree with samshimi. Upgrade what comes along from Basil first. If you already have all the recipes or something, then I would go ahead and craft whatever you feel is best. There's no real "right" way to do it. Having armor at all times is a huge advantage, going from 2 to 3* is a massive advantage. You take significantly less damage. On the other hand, if you find your shield breaks a lot, and you're not dodging as much as you're shielding, then upgrading your shield is a good choice. I had no problems with my shield breaking, except on the Jelly King. I did much more dodging, than I did shielding. Primarily because I kite. What I got out of my shield more than anything, was the ability to push enemies away. So I upgraded my sword first, then armor pieces, then my shield.

Weapons take priority over

Weapons take priority over everything. Armor just lets you mess up more; you can accomplish the same thing by getting better at the game and avoiding/blocking attacks.
