JK crown runs nerfed

Just finished a JK run. Came out with 5643 crowns from Moorecroft -> killing JK, and even did a danger room. I usually come out with close to 7k, so there are definitely fewer crowns to be gained now.

Looks like what they did to balance it was to remove drops from a portion of the monsters. Many times, enemies would die and drop absolutely nothing. In which case, they should just remove those monsters rather than doing the work of killing them for no credit, in my opinion.

i joined a group around L10

i joined a group around L10 and to JK kill was 4854. I did get a TV (was kicked from the group). I was estimating about 5k per run.

I just did a D15 and D16 run with my friend. The results were depressing.

If this is the case - the ce market is prolly gonna drop. If it doesn't drop, then the game just got a lot more grindy...

I'll prolly just go back to buying my own ce. Sucks b/c this game is very fun to play as f2p balancing cr profits and ce market <_<

Just solo'd the Ironclaw

Just solo'd the Ironclaw Munitions Factory. That place seems to have had its crown drops buffed a bit to bring it up to match other stages. Now it feels rewarding to go through there.

Still not as absurdly rewarding as old Royal Jelly Palace of course. But it's not on the low side anymore.

(The Factory actually seems less stressful while solo because you don't have to coordinate with other players to hit the right switches... But maybe it's just me?)

@Gigafreak - About how many crowns did you get out of a full Ironclaw run? When I last did it, it felt like I only got ~3k out of it, but I wasn't keeping a very good record.

Good stuff, hopefully other levels are a bit more lucrative too (not that they should match boss strata, but a little less disparity would be nice).

Um, no thanks. Removing monsters would make the dungeon easier and less interesting. If they could have reduced the loot across the board instead of making mobs randomly "empty" it would have been nicer, but I guess it was an easier fix this way? It doesn't really matter, as you're still making better profit than you would on [insert random stratum].

Good. Too many crowns

Good. Too many crowns chasing too few goods drives inflation. Jelly palace farming made a lot of things more expensive than they would otherwise have been, notably including crystal energy.

One basic principle of good game design is that if you're going to reward players, it should be for doing things that are interesting in their own right. Making players choose between rewarding activities and fun activities is bad game design. If one level gives far greater rewards than any others, then that pushes players to farm that one level exclusively in order to get the crowns for it. If all levels give about the same rewards (or rather, all levels at a given depth), then players can do whatever and not get punished for wanting to do a variety of content.

Yes. Exactly.

They don't even give of heat or mats, they sometimes drop a whole bunch of nothing! This only happens with the Normal Jellies, since it never happened with Lumbers and Lichens, at least to me.

I can overlook mats, but lack of heat put me off a little.

This nerf wouldn't bother me, if it weren't for the fact that mats are worth nothing. If I'm not purely profiting off of Crowns, then it's simply not worth doing a dungeon. There's no profit to be made, and mats aren't worth anything, so it's not like we can sell them to make up for the nerf.

Concerning FSC crowns

Initial indications from runs done by my guildees and myself suggest that FSC crowns have been un-touched.

what do you mean mats are worth nothing i easily make half of my overall profits (after covering CE costs) from material sales.

Developers: OK, we'll lower Royal Jelly Palace crowns :trollface:

And anyways, mats commonly found in Royal Palace aren't worth anything because everyone runs it, so there's way too much supply.

i do think the mobs in the jelly runs should still drop heat whither or not the drop crowns i'm fine with them not dropping crowns but not dropping heat is pretty frackin lame especially since no other place in any tier except for now maybe the jelly farm can you kill a regular mob and not receive at least heat even if it is just a small amount of heat, and to the smartazz that i know is going to say it phantoms are not regular mobs as they do not die. we are killing regular mobs take the crowns sure fine but at least leave the heat.

On one hand, the jelly king

On one hand, the jelly king runs were profitable.

On the other hand, I just got my faust finished and now I can't really benefit from it all that much. This is like the third "get rich fast!" opportunity I'm missing out on and it's getting on my nerves. Also, if you keep nerfing these hotspots you'll only make the game more grindy for new players. Not to mention that the fix was rather lazy as well. Maybe you should have just moved the whole thing into tier 3 or something.

I got around 6k crowns from

I got around 6k crowns from doing Ironclaw Munitions Factory (in part because there's an arena in strata 3 of that clockwork), and the mats there are worth a lot more than in Royal Jelly Palace.

Maybe it's time people start farming the new boss more?
