Lag Spikes

I like to stream music when I play. Sometimes, a long song will start to load which will cause a short spike in my latency. In Spiral Knights, this equates to 2-3 seconds of unplayable action from lag. That's not a problem.

What's annoying me to no end, however, is that after the lag spike ends I can return to function as normal for about 5-10 seconds, and then I get disconnected from the game. Imagine my frustration when I pay 200 Crowns and 10 energy to hop into a T2 gate only to get disconnected after about 5 minutes of play. Why even tease me with being able to return to normal after the lag spike ends? Why not just kick during the spike? Why not allow a longer period of time to 'reconnect' before kicking (say, 30 seconds)?

By your own description, your DOSing what I assume is limited bandwidth. Adjusting the timeout to be shorter would just kill more sessions, and making it longer wouldn't help because your session is already dead.

You should looking to installing a QOS program that can manage connections per application. give Spiral Knights (or any other game) high priority, and leave other programs at normal.
