The super disappointing Core
They should call it this way.
You run through 28 levels, hacking , slashing, shooting , bombing, dodging and shielding to get to the core and when you get there...
No prizes, no hula dancers, no view, no cutscene, no secret stuff, no goodies, no "congrats" message...
Just a big pile of junk and a few guys hanging out...
Utterly disappointing.

Yes, this is an amazing site and I hope the developers make a ton of money of it, but the core is easily the most disappointing thing about this game.
I mean, would have it been so hard to give an artifact or special costume gear or some bonus crowns or mist tank or something? man . . .

There were treasure boxes in the preview.
You mean that April fools preview?

Not the pre-release thing. I mean the beta.
O I C. No boxes there though. No nothing but some used up elevator monitors piled up like scrap metal and a few NPC's with ridiculous speeches.
I bet a couple damn hula dancers wouldn't be too expensive for the developer team =/
Maybe a few crowns (500 would be ok, just for the fun of winning a prize for reaching the core and it pays the avg market value of 10 CE).
Maybe a mist tank.
Maybe a nice item (no super stats, but maybe different colors or layout so you can show yourself off to your friends).
But actually, I'm thinking of a much better prize. By reaching the core, you should win back ALL the CE you spent on elevators.
If you started on Tier 1 , stratum 1: 280 ce.
If you started later, less ce , proportionally.
that's not the core.
that's the entrance to the core. and its closed. people seem to forget that the core will actually open one day.
That would be... horrible. It would make tier 3 effectively free, if you're good enough to not need to revive. Seriously, when you see the core enough that it's a sign of "oh, yay, I'm done", then you don't really need a reward.
A couple treasure boxes or something would be nice.
Elevators going to any terminal or subtown you want to visit would be more unique and perhaps not too hard ('cept with all those locked screens there's no room for more elevators... )
A basil with 1* - 5* recipes would be something too.
Replacing the energy spent ... not gonna happen.
More creative would be to drop the rate of some rare mat in regular depths, or take it away from brinks, and make up the difference by having one of the NPC conversations award you that material, plus you could fit it in with a 'we had this for our research but it was useless to us, could you use one of these?' conversation.
You do get an achievement though. You can't get a mist tank because there's probably going to be a mist tank when Tier 4 opens.
Not that I was actually disappointed when I first reached the core.... well, not much. I was expecting more of a subtown at the core research station, and the closed elevator, of course. The view of the core with the perspective swing is fun to look at the first couple times. But, there's really no reason to go there, and there ought to be. It's going to be months or more before the core opens (What comes after adding a T1 and a T2 boss? A T3 boss, mayhap? With, if we are lucky, another recon module that provides crucial keys to opening the core... maybe as the next project or maybe after one more boss for each tier and yet more important recon module finds.) Ahem. Anyway, the point is the sealed core is going to be there long enough that it really needs a reason to visit other than to look at the shiny locked gate.
So why the hell do we train so hard to beat all bosses, get good sets, kill all wolvers, cut all the grass, bushes, plants looking for coins, sell materials and do everything else in-game?
I thought reaching the friggin core was the objective of this game...
And yeah , that would make tier 3 elevator-free, but dont forget the reviving costs...
Getting -into- the core is the current objective in the story, which you help do by collecting crystals, the nominal objective of the game.
You would know this if you read those 'ridiculous speeches' that tell you what's happening in the game world.
And who revives more than once on a core run? If you're there for an achievement, reviving ruins it anyway, and if you're not, there's no reason not to go up and down again.
The core is pretty disappointing, but I can solo all the way to the core...so giving a reward to get there beyond the first visit is not in the companies best interest.
A vendor of some sort would be very nice though. Something similar to Basil. I know I'm not going to go back to the core until I kill Van unless I decide to do achievements.
I agree with your points about rewards, but you still haven't replied about hula dancers =)

I hul'd a dancer once.
Bouncers kicked me out.
Was totes worth it.
OP has quite a thing for hula dancers

It is the entrance to the core. It isn't opened yet, if you read what the Knights have to say, they need more minerals to open it. You should know the core isn't open yet so of course D28 is the end. What were you expecting fairies and treasure boxes all over? It is like any other clockwork stop, it has a elevator and you go up.
That's what I'm complaining about... 28 levels to get to the entrance of something that is closed?
"Oh ok, now that you beat everything the game has to offer, you must face the most impossible challenge of any game: A closed door.".
Well think about this:
*New game
** Still under Development
*** Still producing new content for players
**** It's been stated that the core will open one day
***** If you dont like it, well noones making... you play so dont
TL;DR.. If you dont like MMO standards dont play them. (cuz yes thats basicly how things go: release with some content to get users to play and add content when it's ready to keep players logging in.)
**Side note: I highly doubt u have a set of armor/weps/shields for every occasion so you probably still got a lot to keep you occupied...
Well, actually I have a set for every occasion, but the thing is: i can't change them between floors, so what's the point to that anyway?
When you get ice on one floor, fire on the next, shock on the next and shadow on the next before reaching a room where you can change your armor, what do you do?
Get a good shield and good weapons, dodge all stuff you can and kill everything in the process.
Armors and trinkets don't do shmucks.
Welcome to the club!!
