But to totally block Grape too? I mad. Who cares if people abuse that, I had some grape juice today, and I can't type that! That's going a bit far isn't it?
Now blocking [DELICIOUS MEATBALLS] was one thing,
Knock off the G. Now you can see why the censor catches it.
I know, but the fact is a week ago you could say grape, and couldn't without the G,
in other words, they did block grape specifically too.
Sure, some words whenm detected are automatically ditched, and with reason, but how am I supposed to advertise ingame "the therapeutic values of blasting trough a graveyard"?

they gonna block orange next?
*edit* yeah dog, get your mind out of the gutter, how is a grape gonna- what?
A couple of other really odd words were blocked with the most recent update as well, or at the very least I am not creative enough with bad language to figure out why some of the newly blocked words are now blocked.
I'm a little sad that they're having to expand the filter in this way, but it does seem like this style of game attracts enough of the bad sort of player that the filter will have to continuously be added to until we are unable to chat at all.
oh god.. I've played games like that before, they SUCK so badly.
that video was funny.
though that one guys mind was really in the gutter.
Boswick dislikes grape juice thus its blocked so once again Blame It On Boswick....
I bet Boswick made all of OOO hate grape juice too. :(
How hard is it to see why grape would be censored? Some people even say grape when implying to mean the word it'd form if the G was gone. I think its upsetting that I can be called a jackass in this game. Can we fix that please?
The swear filters that were once divided out by language got combined to solve some issues. As you have noticed, it has created other issues, such as not being able to say "grape." Don't worry, you won't be left grapeless permanently. :)
"Grape" being censored isn't as surprising as the word "bite" being censored.
I giggled.
Oh God... Not another game ruined by chat filter, please don't let this happen >_<
In some other game I played, the chat filter was so silly that even a cassual conversation was nearly impossible.
I would realy HATE to see such a silly filter here in SK (especially because I doubt that we have majority of little kids in-game).
Noctuelle, fear not! Please see my above response.
I'm going to bite a spicy grape.
Yes, because eating a spicy fruit is TOTALLY obscene and inappropriate for children. What else is censored? Bacon? Jackets? Bloatfish?
Or maybe those sneaky Gremlins sabotaged the curse filter...
Don't make me find a way to use the blink tag on here, people. I'll say it again: The filtering of words like "grape" is not permanent.
Is there any chance on blocking out a word that deserves it? Look in my previous post (#13) for reference. I'm pretty sure that same word with the pre-fix dropped is blocked.
So it's just a bug/error that will be fixed eventually? Well that's good to know.
I don't know what this "blink tag" is, but it sounds like something I shouldn't touch with a 30 foot pole.
> I don't know what this "blink tag" is, but it sounds like something I shouldn't touch with a 30 foot pole.
I think I would get in serious trouble if I told you that my instincts told me some secret information about the game and some future updates...
Oops, I shouldn't have said that. I'm going to slowly walk away now, and--
Naw, the stuff I know isn't that much. It's nothing that's highly confidential or ban-worthy.
I know what the next boss will be, and when it comes to mystery dungeons, I'm very good at guessing. But I'm not spoiling anything. The admins will probably laugh and move on to the next topic.
1.Yeah I hope Three Rings doesn't go ridiculous with the word filter, I mean some words it's obvious that they're worthy of censoring but censoring ALL of the words that resemble any strong or innapropiate language in any nation would get ridiculous. If OOO were to do that, nobody would be able to have a decent conversation anymore, and they would have to resort to either asking players to use a different username, or just ban them completely for censorship infrigment.
As stated above, I do find it kind of ridiculous you can call people "Dumbass," or "Jackass," or other common strong and foul language, but banning something like:
"I am going to bite a spicy grape"
is just absurd, as stated above, what little kid will find this sentence innapropiate in any sort of way, yeah I know that sentences like
"I am going to grape you"
IS innapropiate, but sometimes people just go too far, just like one game I played when I was younger, it asked me what profession my character has and I couldn't put "Assassin" for the use of the word "ass."
Question: If they go ridiculous with the filter does that mean users with usernames with censored words in it will get banned, or will they be asked to rename their character or something, only reason I ask is because "vermilion" is a scarlet red color, and if they're going (if they haven't already) ban the use of the word "blood," in some instances, vermilion is used as a substitute of the word blood since the color of blood is a relation to the color vermilion. (and that would mean I would be banned for the ridiculous filter censoring or something like that...)
"The swear filters that were once divided out by language got combined to solve some issues. As you have noticed, it has created other issues, such as not being able to say "grape." Don't worry, you won't be left grapeless permanently. :)"
Ok, forgot to read this post, but that makes me feel a bit better, players must've sent enough complaints for the use of the word "Grape."
Awww, Nearo. You missed the discussion where we discovered (now gone since someone has kindly corrected my language ignorance :P) is blocked. You cannot violently violate violins in this game.
Edit: musical instruments in English can mean naughty things in French!
