ya they seem pretty the same, but if they do the same damage i would go with the snarble since the charged is usable, while the flourish isnt (definitely wouldnt use it vs devilites or greavers nor wolves so no point in it)
The Flourish charge kills Tier 3 Trojans and Phantoms practically instantly if you're solo and get off every hit. I would say the Flourish's charge attack is much more useful for FSC and graveyards.
Both blades can be equally USELESS if your playing style, skill and knowledge of monster behavior is lacking. The opposite is also true, either blade can become lethal in the right hands.
If you are more of a gunner or bomber that prefers distance combat, then you will find the Snarby line more rewarding. The charged attack on the projectiles can serve as a conical range attack weapon and switch flipper. The conical damage is more condensed at close range and fans out. In other words, the closer a monster is to ground zero, the more projectiles it will get bombarded. There is also a glitchy, yet cute Snarby at the end of the charge. Snarby tends to turn in odd directions when it bites. The Snarby line cannot be bought as of yet due to binding. If you want a useful UV, you will need to run many, MANY Snarby paths to earn the tokens to invest in a good UV.
If you are more of a close combat swords person, the Flourish line is for you as it is easier to obtain UVs and can be purchased at the 2* & 3* level from other players. The non charged attack damage is similar to the Snarby line with a little more knock back. However, the charged attack definately requires some skill to master and does roughly 1.5 to 2 times the damage with each successive strike. The charged attack makes the Final Flourish particular lethal against an entire swarm of of wolvers, gremlins, greavers and devilites. Done right, you can kill several with just one Final Flourish charge, where as the Snarb blade will require about 2 charges to kill a common wolver or gremlin. A deviously fun way to use the Final Flourish is to kite a batch of monsters that are weak or neutral to piercing damage into a narrow path, turn around and release the charge. With every successive strike, the monsters in its path will get pummeled with multiple strikes and knock back. Unlike the Snarby blade whose charged projectiles deal a a base damage, the strikes of a charged Final Flourish become progressively larger towards the coup de grace, Final Strike. A high or very high Attack Speed UV will make either blade incredibly lethal as anything you attack (including players in upcoming PvP) will be successively knocked back and hit again before they can recover. You will find little need to use a charged attack with a high or very Attack Speed UV.
If you have bomber or gunner tendencies, a high or very high CTR UV is something you aim for (pun intended). With the Snarby line, a good CTR UV means you can release many projectiles in shorter periods. With the Final Flourish, a good CTR means your character becomes a raging projectile that goes boom BOOM and KABOOM. Just beware of map hazards, constructs and slimes.
Frankly, I enjoy both Snarby and Flourish blades. Both have their uses. Gremlins tend to line-up better for a Final Flourish charge when kiting. Especially good if you get caught in a Deconstruction Zone or Gremlin heavy arena. Wolvers tend to be found in more confined or bush laden areas and don't line-up quite as neatly as Gremlins. Either blade does well against the other monsters that are weak or neutral to piercing damage.
they are both great enough that it really comes down to the charge effect vs the ability to grab a UV.....and there is still an amazing charge on flourish so the charge effect would have to be amazing on the barb to make a win for me, its great and so is the blade but i prefer me a lil VH Fiend UV damage to keep the devilits away so even after falling in love with my barb i ended up keepin the flourish VH Fiend as my main piercer...
If you can find Culture on this site, he's got both of them (as well as the other two Flourish lines). Apart from the charge attack, they're exactly the same. Although I feel that the Flourish may have more range on its first swipe (the animation seems to hit the sides as well as forward). The Snarble Barb shoots a fan of projectiles outward which works better for groups or (sometimes) larger enemies since all of the thorns can hit. The Final Flourish has a combination attack kind of thing which pretty much demolishes a single enemy, instead of the regular combo which goes swipe>lunge>lunge the charge attack goes lunge>lunge>swipe in quick succession.
