So now that I have my weapons worked out I am thinking about what sort of armor/trinkets/shield I should use for a gunner.

My first choices are
The Chaos set (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Chaos_Cloak)
The Nameless set (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Nameless_Poncho)
The Shadowsun set (http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Shadowsun_Slicker)
The Grey Feather set(http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Grey_Feather_Mantle)

I want to go with the Chaos set, but I don't know if my dodging/shielding skills are up to par (^_^;;) to avoid the negatives. Also I figure mixes of normal and elemental damage are the best to go with, since it seems that those are the most common damages overall. Am I wrong thinking that?

Tell what your weapons of

Tell what your weapons of choice are and which stratums/bosses you're enjoying most. Otherwise it's difficult to give any advice.

You'd be wrong thinking

You'd be wrong thinking normal dmg is the most common in t3, but you're right for the rest. But, pending on your Gun UVs and if you're using a swiftstrike, I would choose Nameless or a combination of Nameless and Shadowsun. And, if you're allready at Atk Speed Ultra/Maximum, a combination of shadowsun and divine/chaos. I say Shadowsun instead of chaos at first because, from experience, I get hit far more often from piercing attacks when I keep my distance (slime family, needle shots, earth spikes etc) then shadow one's (cat bullets etc). On the second choice I would rather choose divine then chaos to keep elemental def somewhere and still having a dmg bonus medium against Fiends. But it is ofc always better to have some back up gear to better adapt to stratuses.

Would be my modest opinion on it
