I'm not sure, how many people are aware of this:
When you're crafting, the item is generated right away, you don't have to wait untill the animation finishes. It is possible to cancel the animation by simply clicking escape, the item will be crafted either way.
I've just noticed this ingame, thought, i'd share some useful information.

just craft and press esc, and keep going ... how come i never thought about sharing this??
