Just a cool idea I had.
I noticed a lot of people were in support of stuff like two handed weapons so I figured I would post it.
Weapon Pickups
These are degradable weapons. They get used up at a reasonable rate and offer some extraordinary abilities.
You can only acquire them during dungeons, at specific points.
But they are quite handy to use.
Melee type: Melee type pickups use both hands. Instead of having the usual normal/charge attack, they just have one attack.
The Whirlwind.
You spin attack, knocking about monsters and deflecting/destroying bullets that come your way.
Few things can stop a whirlwind. This is why the weapons break after a certain amount of time.
Big Hammers, Maces and Axes would be ideal for the Whirlwind attack.
You could take a tip from Garen and use swords, but we already have those.
Ranged type: Ranged type pickups use both hands as well. They offer extraordinary range at the cost of having very limited ammo and hefty movement speed debuffs and reload times. They do a lot of damage, they should be able to hit multiple monsters at once and inflict them with a status or something like that.
Maybe they can shoot through certain monster's shields for a certain area or something.
Rifles, Bazookas and Grenade Launchers would be great Ranged Type pickups.
You can't block when you have one of these equipped, blocking while you have it equipped will drop/break the item you're holding.
The next idea isn't strictly a weapon, but I've posted it before and it seemed interesting, at least to me.
Blockade Shields: These are big shields that Knights can pick up. They offer complete and unlimited protection from all forward facing attacks, at the downside of you not being able to attack while holding them. You also move slower while holding it.
Clicking attack with it out will slam it into the ground, creating cover for your Knight to hide behind. Blocking while holding will drop it, like the other items.
Since we already have Vials and exploding blocks, I don't think there needs to be any kind of bomb pickup.
But if you want one, feel free to suggest it.
they be in the pickup slots, and activated from there?
If not, that may be a good thing to add, or make clear.
i.e. the weaponry sits in the queue of the slots, activating like a Mecha Knight. When you drop it via your blocking method, it breaks. Or has its durability halved each time it is dropped.
