Auction House improvements and new gear concepts

Auction House Improvements:

-A time slider for how long the auction will be instead of vague measurements of time like "long" or "short"

-The ability to buy/sell things for crowns, CE or both

-Identify who posted which lot in the Auction House (this could be helpful for people trying to sell things and then advertise for them or if somebody knows a reliable trader and wants to buy from them)

-Have a price comparison between a vendor and something in the Auction House (at the Auction House and vendors)

-A history graph of item prices (this could also work with the Energy Market)

-Rather than the search bar (or in conjunction with it), have an encyclopedia of weaponry and gear in your inventory and, when clicked on, the Auction House prices would come up.

New Gear:

Sniper Rifle line (Gun)
-2* and up
-Could have a bonus from Gunslinger set
-Would only work long-range
-Would do a lot of damage
-Harder to aim (so as to compensate for the damage)
-Recipe could have (and this is a bizarre idea) a new item that is the Eye of a monster (like for the scope or something)
Note: I can see this alchemy line going from like a sharpshooter pistol and progressing towards a heavy duty sniper rifle.

Knife line (Sword or new item type)
I envision the knife as being the Haze Bomb of swords.
-1* and up
-Can have multiple elemental alchemy paths with different effects (like the Haze Bomb)
-Very short range
-Deals piercing damage
-Designed to be very small
-Recipe wouldn't have Swordstone, but could have some other form of metal or something

Fencing Jacket/Mask line (Armor/Helm)
-2 or 3* and up
-Resistant to piercing
-Bonus to either all swords or just piercing (I can't decide)
-Designed to look like legit fencing masks and jackets
-Recipe would have things like Fine Fabric, maybe some sort of Scale...

Suicide Vest [tentative name] (Armor)
-3 or 4*
-Resistant to normal
-Can double as a bomb weapon, but the bomb stays on you. When it explodes you take damage along with the monsters around you.
-Large blast radius (or radius gets bigger as * level progresses)
-Could be the first attack/defense hybrid

A Water Gun of sorts (Gun)
This could be the Haze Bomb of guns.
-1* and up
-Can have multiple elemental alchemy paths with different effects (like the Haze Bomb)
-Shoots different liquids depending on type (Fire = lava, Poison = muck, Ice = freezing water etc.)

Monkeyman's right about the

Monkeyman's right about the auction times; it stops opportunistic buyers swooping in at the very last second to make sure they don't get outbid. Ever have that happen to you on eBay? It is double infuriating. I try to steer clear of economic debates - it's not exactly my area of expertise - but I have an uneasy feeling that auctioning items for CE could quickly unbalance the market.

I like the idea of a sniper rifle, but the new Pulsar line already fills the more-effective-at-longer-range niche, so there'd have to be something else to separate a theoretical sniper weapon. Maybe making it single-shot with a slow fire rate, but deal a bucket of damage and have a very fast-moving projectile; or maybe give the projectile itself a penetrative aspect, passing through and damaging two or three enemies (doing less damage to each) before stopping. Or perhaps require the player to aim properly, maybe by having a laser sight-esque beam that has to be trained on an enemy for a moment before the weapon will fire at all.

Knife-like weapons have been suggested before but they've always been posited as short-range, faster swords; I like the idea of them being primarily status-inflicting weapons a lot better.

Whilst I do like the idea of extending the Fencing Jacket line aesthetically, there are already sets that specialise in Piercing resistance. The bomb vest sounds intriguing, but I'm not clear as to how it'd actually operate in-game. The chemical thrower could be interesting but I have a feeling that what you're suggesting is already sort of covered by the Alchemer line.

We already have Pulsar which is designed as long range handgun.

Knife line (Sword or new item type)
I agree with Effrul that idea of them being primarily status-inflicting weapon sounds good.
Also I think that cutters are a bit like knives at the moment (fast, low damage, assassin's weapon of choice).

Fencing Jacket/Mask line (Armor/Helm)
Again I agree with Effrul that there are already lots of armours that specialise in piercing defense. I'm not sure if we need another one. Maybe it could be a costume oly armour?

Sounds like a permanent Curse status isn't it?

Alchemers are water guns - both in design and functionality.

Sorry, I haven't tried out the Pulsars yet so I can't testify to them being or not being what I was thinking of. In terms of the Knife, not my original idea, but a great one none the less. I do like Merethif's idea about the costume-only aspect of the Fencing line. The Suicide Vest is somewhat like permanent Curse status, but the damage given to you would vary because it would be a certain percent of the damage given to the enemy. @Merethif lol, I just realized the comparison, sorry. Maybe it could be a weapon that only causes the effect and/or pushes the enemy back but doesn't deal damage.

The suggestions for items should be on a separate fourm than the auction ideas. Just saying. And it seems like most of your item ideas are things that already exist, in some way. Plus, why make a sniper harder to aim? The point of having a sniper is to not miss.... I'd just give it a really slow fire rate. I like the idea of range-only, as opposed to pulsar shot's that do more damage at range, but do work at point blank. Or prehaps we could have a single-shot rail (not like a BZZZZZZZ forever I mean like a single PEW then a reload) that can pass through enemies to do more damage total.

Yeah, something that passed

Yeah, something that passed through mobs (doing more damage to fewer monsters) would make a nice counterpoint to the Pulsar's explosive effect (doing less damage to loads of dudes).

I ment that it would do a fixed, say, 100 damage, but be able to hit anyone in front of you. I didn't mean like, if it hit's 2 people the second shot does 50 or anything. It would do 100 to each enemy hit.
