Personally, I consider the public party system extremely flawed, there's no way to select who tries to join, and joiners are in a pure gamble of what the party is going to be doing, or what kind of knight they need. I would suggest looking at other instanced dungeon MMOs for ideas on how a party selection system would look like.
But once we have party application boards, besides the equipment you're wearing right now, the party leader probably knows nothing about you. So my idea is to automate the "interview" stage, by recording the generalities of a player into an automatically generated report. From this report, accolades would be determined. Accolades would be tokens that appear by a users name, to tell the party leader what kind of knight they are, in terms of specialty, skill, and demeanor. Accolades would vanish if they player did not do the qualifying thing in the last x days, varying on the action. This would mean for the most part the accomplishment is recent, and if a player were to go on vacation for several months, they'd have to actively earn them again to be considered "worthy" by leaders.
Bad accolades would also be earnable, but would decay faster, a week for the very worst at the most. Most of the bad accolades would be scummy actions, like kicking 2 people from a party already in the clockworks, hurting nothing on an entire strata, or abandoning a party outside a town.
The good accolades would focus on weapon usage at first, going through each Tier using only a single category of weapon, with solo and groups being two halves of a full accolade, like two sides of a coat of arms or the like. fully expanded accolades would be on a per strata type basis, showing which types of monsters they've faced recently for offensive accolades, and the element faced for defensive accolades.
Sword swinger/slasher/master: get through T1/2/3 only damaging monsters with swords. For the full acolade, do once solo, and once in a group. Similar ones for bombs and guns.
Stabby Mcstab stab, Shadow walker, Elemental master: Do a number of levels, using a specialty damage weapon, against the monster types weak to it. This could be expanded to show exactly which specialty weapons they have used, allowing a party leader to select members strong for the area and/or select the right destination for each level.
Resistance: do a few levels with X% status effect resistance.
dodger: Do x levels with the mob type as the theme, and take no damage. Maybe never drop below x%, a bit of allowance keeps the rage down. if you got them all, merge into one, if you don't, only show the relevant ones.
Well, that's enough for now.
I'm all for forming parties prior to entering a gate, but vehemently against whatever sort of spyware / elitism BS you're trying to propose here.
