Assuming one starts this process with 2* gear after they've played the game, and decided to invest money into it. If a player buys the Starter Pack, they'd have enough resources to pretty much craft end-game gear. Recipes, alchemy costs, and energy costs to upgrade a helmet, armor, and weapon from 2* to 5* leaves 25,000cr and 500ce, remaining, right? With top tier equipment, that's a stone's throw away from crafting everything you need to beat the game, I think.

So anybody can take out 95% of the grind by paying $20 once?

Right.

Right.

Yes. Hopefully players don't play simply to grind. Spiral Knights has far more to offer, fun that is to say, mostly. Also as soon as PvP will be released, I think the game will really take another dimension, and grinding as well. Also, an end-game player has achievements, I guess.

Knowing this game's community

Knowing this game's community they will throw away all their CE on robots and revives anyway. Also watch them craft pierce defense gear.

Just like buying a game, right?

Yeah, pretty much.

I mean, if it were say, just an infinite offline game with levels that shifted every once in a while and choice for AI teammates and stuff, I'd say $20 is a fair price for it.

The same way, if you want to free yourself from the stress of dealing with the player economy and waiting and all that, you can pay $20 and get a stress-free ride.

no lies, i had bought 10k CE and i did get quite something, but by far not as much as i got from selling materials later on

50+200+400+800=1450 for a 5*, then u sell alot of CE for crowns too, just for recipes and materials and stuff, also maybe change mind on weapons to try out more gear

i didnt throw anything away for revives or robots..

u so smart, yet dont understand majority of players not so smart like u ppl who figure everything in no time, not anybody can do that

I 100% wasted my 19.95+tax. I spent it on every single gate I saw and a few robots and found no problem in spending 320, 620 or 1k+ to revive just myself or my whole team. I went through the 7.5k CE in 1 day...

This time, I've bought the 20k CE and have been extremely smart and careful about it. I've only raged once and spent 320 to revive myself (damn Devilites...). I'm a collector in these types of games so I want to make sure I have all the resources I need to get the collection I want. :)

If you're from EU... the total amount to spend is as little as 14€. I'd say not bad at all.

If World of Warcraft had anything like this... I would have saved months and months of monthly fees and annoying-repetitive tasks.

It all depends on how much you value your time. But let's be honest: 14€ for the high-end stuff is nothing. Of course you will get ONE gear set (example: I love the Gunslinger stuff). If you want to go 5-stars on another set (say bomber, swordsman, etc..) you will need more cash ;-)

I come in here to say this:

I have seen youtube videos of some boss fights where people have huge revive costs .. its just insane!
I want to say they are dumb, but I am glad for them ... cause then I look better when they have nothing from wasting it and I saved up and have cool stuff :P
