What should I upgrade with a starter pack with the following gear?
So If I get that $20 starter pack for 7500, which gear should I buy/upgrade? Someone went to 4 star in like 3 days...scary... I think I'll need to focus on defense though...
Here is the format: Gear /star#
(All recipes were foolishly learned)
Helm:
Will Upgrade to Miracle Hood (400ce) (4-star)
Armor:
Solid Cobalt /3
Royal Jelly Mail /3
Shield:
(UV piercing defense) Horned Owlite Shield /3
Great Deception(Defender) /3
Guns:
I have the recipe for voltech alchemer mk11 /3
I have the recipe for Industrial Catalyzer /3
I have Strike Needle /4
Swords:
(UV gremlin med damage) A. Calibur /4
Blizbrand /4
Blazebrand /4
Silent Nightblade /4
Arc Razor hahaha! Who cares about that piece of crap...(3 star)
Bombs:
I have haze, crystal, toxic atomizer (2star), pretty much they all suck...
My thoughts:
I was thinking in order to balance out my future Hood's Weakness with an Possible Jelly Mail Upgrade defense, so it would cancel out.
I would appreciate any help, thank you, sorry that my gear is crappy.
In all honesty, i'd find another magic cloak and upgrade both to grey feather. the only real weakness the magic series has is a lack of shadow and stun and it packs a massive defense against the two most dangerous things in tier 3; shock and fire.
if anything grab the sKolver cloak if you just have to have piercing, the jelly set gives piercing and not much else.
Did you mean hood or cloak? I have magic cloak and elemental hood.
Plus Divine Veil would be better...
I mean, who would get chaos cloak?
Grey Feather set is really nice. I also advice on getting it.
When you can get this ! http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Divine_Veil
Why get Grey Feather?

It has no normal defence. A huge gap. In tier 3, not as much, but still big. I would reccomend to get the divine veil, and for the normal defence, get a grey feather mantle for normal. A good mix.
ohhhhhhh.... I see now!
I'll just get grey feather for now
Upgrading your weapon is always more valuable than upgrading your armor. Instead of worrying about your mitigation, you should instead learn how to simply avoid getting hit in the first place. You'll save a lot of CE and you'll learn to actually be good at the game.
Wow, I've always heard the opposite, and I"m sure mitigation will help.
Please help me, I will need to know how use the energy wisely.
