Ok, first off, I'm a mostly casual player. I don't want to waste energy so. :/

Here's my current plan:

Swords: Dread Venom Striker
Barbarous Thorn Blade/Hunting Blade (May have a third weapon slot but...)

Gun: ??? (Currently using Blaster line)

Armour: Dragon Scale Mail

Helm: Crown of the Fallen(If I find a Graveyard, I'm running)

Shield: Barbarous Thorn Shield

Any recommendations are welcome, but I do go for Style Points.

Swordsman? Go For vog cub for armor/cap. Useful especially in FSC. No shadow/piercing def you say? dodge/shield em.

Shield? Playing defensively, go for Grey owlite. Offensively, go for barb (assuming ure a swordsman).

I am going for Swordsman, so

I am going for Swordsman, so ASI is nice. It'll make me look like a Ninja with the Cutter line. lol (But once I'm done making it I'm making some costume armour to go with the Shield.)

Glad you agree with the Barbarous Shield, I'd make it even if you recommended against it.

If you can pull off a DVS as

If you can pull off a DVS as your primary weapon in T3, more power to you. You almost never see people using the cutter line in T3 for several reasons:

Low knockback makes it a dangerous weapon to use against aggressive enemies
It has a high DPS against stationary and cornered enemies but otherwise the damage per hit is very low compared to other swords
Frequent shielding and dodging is necessary to avoid attacks, leaving little time for the DVS to do damage.
