Yes, yet another topic about energy. But rather than the usual topic about the prices of Crystal Energy and whatnot, I have come up with an idea aimed more towards players who cannot play Spiral Knights on a daily basis. It would be a sort of Mist Collector, Mist Condenser, or something to that effect. The basic idea is that it is a usuable item that when used will automatically take 100 Mist Energy, and turn it into a Mist Tank. The condenser would be deactivated in the same way. This item would allow for those who cannot play regularly to still use all their Mist Energy at a later point without letting it go to waste.
This new item would not disrupt the Crystal Energy market either, since only a maximum of 100 Mist Energy can be used at any one point for crafting new alchemical items. This would mean that players would still need to get Crystal Energy through other means, since even if a player were to hoard Mist Tanks, they could not sell them or use more than one at a time.
Because making an item meant to collect energy cost energy to buy would be redunant, I suggest that this new item be available only through the store through a "renewable resources" sort of bundle, which could include 5 Mist Tanks as well. This would support Spiral Knights since it is only available via the store. Whether or not the condenser is a permanent item or a 30-day or less duration I still am unsure about.
I do not know how good of an idea this, but not only would it support Spiral Knights financially, but it would draw more people into playing the game who like to have a more casual style of playing without distrubing alchemy costs or the Energy market.
Hey, did you steal my mist condenser name? I used that somewhere... grumble grumble....
Nah, kidding. Anyway, seems nice but if it's for people that don't use spiral knights much, it should be auto. say you have 100 ME. Let it sit for 24hrs. You lose all that ME and get a mist tank automaticaly. This being said, you'd still have to buy it, prehaps it lasts 30 days, etc etc etc.
Although you're wrong in saying that that wouldnt effect the CE market at all. Shure, it would be little, but it would be evident. If people had more mist, they wouldnt use CE as often, making it less valuable, dropping demand, dropping price. You can interpret that as good or bad, but still not major in any way. The big problem is if it cost CE to buy it, like trinket and weapon slots. Then theres less CE, more demand, higher price. That's why the tossed in the heat amp, to attempt to deplete more CE and make more people buy CE with real money. The problem with that was the fact that the heat amp sucks.
All in all, good idea.
