4*.
Gonna be hard. Gear. All 4*, 4* ash tail set, 4* wise owlite shield, 4* avenger, silent nightblade, 4* vile striker, ( used mostly for JK runs.) 4* silversix, 3* killowatt pulsar, (I like this better then antigua, soon to be gigawatt.) It seems that there are no 5* players that haven't spend any real money on ce. I plan to be a exception. Gonna be hard though. Really hard.. I am extremely active though.

Have about 5k CE and 50k crowns, just haven't found the vog cub or whatever the 5* owl shield is called recipes yet. Sittin on Leviathan Blade, ash tail set, owl shield, and a photon gun for switches lulz, I really need a decent gun...

Plenty of 5* people haven't spent any money. Most of them, including me, are people who played this game before the big steam release. Yes, it is very hard to get to 5* due to the large cost, but its not impossible and there are many people who are "living" proof of such a feat. If you have trouble getting the money or CE required, i suggest that you start mass crafting something popular with ME every day or so in hopes of getting a nice UV to sell.

Too Picky
I'm too picky for my own good and I must get Maximum! on all my gear.
So far I got Maximum! Shadow on Wolver Coat and its being made into an Ash Tail tomorrow.
Currently using a 4 star level 10 Cold Iron Carver Medium CTR.
Rest are rubbish lol

Umm... I am active and don't have 5* gear, like many other players.
I have all 3*, though, and now only need more cr to craft some 4*.
Gonna take a long, but I'm still dying in T2, so... No need to hurry to T3 :D

Started playing at Steam
Started playing at Steam release.
I've been working on two characters, one originally themed around All Swords All The Time (now going for a Sword+Gun build) and one where I'm trying out everything.
Lots of crafting when you level two characters, so the Crystal Energy that I sink many of my Crowns into is getting spread wider instead of deeper, resulting in less high-star-rating gear. I've just recently finished getting a three-star gear set for my sword/gun character, working on a three-star set for my main.
Sword/Guns character:
Weap1 - Currently Iceburst Brandish, final planned weapon Divine Avenger
Weap2 - Currently Magnus, final planned weapon is Biohazard (previously was Callahan, I might still make both)
Head - Currently Gunslinger Hat, final planned helmet Nameless Hat
Body - Currently Dusker Coat, final planned armor Vog Cub Coat
Shield - Currently Scary Skelly Shield, final planned shield Dread Skelly Shield. Alt final plan - Dragon Scale Shield with Max UV - Normal or Shadow def. (not bloody likely, but I can dream.)
Trinkets | Weap 3/4 - None planned for now, as I am a bloody cheapskate. If I come into some real money or am able to bank 10k+ CE, then I'll consider it, but that won't be happening for the next month or two, guaranteed.
Side paths-
I might make a Vile Striker for Royal Jelly runs to get my Sealed Sword. I'm hoping Iceburst/Blizzbrand with Toxic/Virulent Catalyzer will do the job.
I think my currently planned gear is strong for both general usage as well as Vanaduke runs, but once I've actually got tier 3 access, I might plan out variant gear for Vanaduke.

Let me see
In my household we have 2 characters...
One has all 5* gear that was started at full release. The 5* character has maybe 1k in CE at its disposal, and VH or Max UV where it counts on key gear.
The other was started about a month before the Steam invasion that has 4* gear, but will be 5* once all the heat is raised to 10. That can be difficult when you are leveling up 6 pieces of gear at once. The 4* has almost 10k CE and only High on most gear as I'm going for a 'killing' gear setup.
And neither of them have ever bought CE...it is all about crafting, delving with good friends who dont let you revive with energy, and alot of luck for drops and UVs

i dont drink/dont go out/so if i spend 20bucks for CE so i can craft my 4* to 5 all at one time, whats the stigma all about? its only money after all and throwing it at a game? who can say they never spent 20bucks on 'foolish' stuff before? buy a drink in a club = 10bucks that you just pee out later~... pay 10bucks for a movie in a theater that you can just torrent the telesync~ meh...

I Am Active And GuildLess.
Been playing for a while now, about a month I'd say (176 hours on Steam record, though its not entirely correct), bought 1 starter pack cuz the game seemed fun.
Currently I have tons of 4-star stuff and 1 used 5-star item (Leviathan covers with dust). My gear:
Silent Nightblade / Blazebrand / Grand Flourish / Prisma Driver (got recipe for Nova)
Skolver coat (5*) + elemental cloak (4*) + wise owlite shield
Two trinkets for piercing resistance.
My story:
- crystal energy prices skyrocketed - spending 100 energy on riding the elevator down won't give you 7k crowns for another 100 energy, basically, you have to pay $$ to play the game, which isn't entirely "free to play"
- playing on mist energy is boring - 1 full tier run per day and you're empty
- crafting doesn't give you much moneys, 2-star items don't even cover their own energy costs because loads of people craft those for mist energy
- recipe selling seems dead - prices too low to make any profit, considering auction house takes 10% and selling through forums can take weeks
- playing in a party is harder than solo - monsters have extra health, you get only 1/4 of items, I'm almost always best in squad, both in terms of skill and equipment
- the best part: game seems like a ghost town with town square simply being empty (it was full of people last time I played actively)
Now I'm so bored I don't play at all - 2 hours last week, typically it was over 20.
i dont know lolz to hard to get i guess?
uhm horned owlite, silent night blade, tempered calibur, elemental set.....thaz about all my stuff
been playing for a week now and its still hard to get :*( lol
