Ever since last patch (July 8th) i noticed a memory leak. When i go down the gate, with every level it takes more and more memory, and then it starts freezing the game for 1-2 sec every few seconds. restarting the game fixes the problem but that's a workaround, because i need to restart the game every 5-10 minutes. The problem wasn't happening before July 8th patch.

Yes, totally agree! I'll add

Yes, totally agree! I'll add staying in town, making trades of huge amount of items increases dramatically the frequency of screen freezes. It got up to one each 5~10 seconds for me, though I use a pretty powerful computer. All I came up with so far to solve it is closing and re-opening frequently the game client, which isn't really pleasant.

Not another memory leak.

Not another memory leak. x_x

If it is, that's probably why I've gone back to having to restart the client every gate instead of just partway through FSC. :x

My laptop memory is leaking like a faucet.

Every time i go to the Iron Claw Munition Factory, SK crashes at least twice due to memory leak (~1.8gb to 1.9gb each time i check)
It's kind of annoying when you log back in after your game crashed and find out that you're dead ._.

SK is using about 83% of my CPU and freezing for minutes (YES MINUTES) at a time! No, I'm not exaggerating.

So are we getting a refund on all the lost energy from runs? When I reload the game I'm always back in Haven...

No. We're not getting anything back.

I don't think that the technical team would go on and fix this in the near future despite a considerable amount of reports of memory leaking.

SK still leaks although it's

SK still leaks although it's written in Java? Interesting.

Perhaps I would rather handle the pointers on my own.

@obsothoth

Even with a garbage collector Java isn't immune to memory leaks.

...Huh. Maybe this is my problem. I figured hey, eight gigs, right?
I'll pop up a system monitor to watch while I play.

Mem leaking @ the rate of 800kb/sec in ICMF

Holy moly, it leaks so fast it's insane.
Strange though, my friend play this game with a weaker computer (same window version) config yet his comp doesn't experience mem leaking (i told him to monitor the ram usage, and he said it's roughly 50%; both his and mine have 3gb of usable ram.)
I'll try to ask other friends of mine to monitor their ram usage while playing.
Hopefully we'll would find a solution to this :/ (i can't kill the twins cuz my comp crashed midway...)

Make a note of your OS and

Make a note of your OS and which version and distro JRE your running in your posts.

I have 3 versions of JRE installed on my machine, and I'll try doing some testing when I get home later tonight.

So far this is what I

So far this is what I found.

Testing Method: Full Tier2 run from the game with ICMF (forgot the name again). OS: Win7 64, i7 860, 4GB Ram, GTX295.
Monitoring: jconsole to watch heap, Resource Monitor to watch javaw.exe process.

Didn't notice any odd behavior in the heap activity or GC. The values below represent RAM usage monitored through Windows.

JRE7 from Oracle (the newest release); Maxes at 480MB Commit and tends to float near there.

Sun Java Hotspot JRE6u7 (stock Steam); In Startum 3 it went up to around 480MB commit and tapered off there. But as soon as I hit the Clockwork terminal, it jumped up right up to 530MB. Going on into Ironclaw, the memory usage started floating around 580MB and maxed at 606MB. Leaving ICMF, it dropped back to 530MB and floated between 530-550MB for the rest of game session (half a JK run, 2 rounds in the blastnetwork, and a run through a slime arena.)

I'm gonna retry the runs again tomorrow night both on ICMF and other gates to see if it always jumps at the Terminal, and see what happens when I skip the terminal.

I did more play tests under

I did more play tests under JRE7 and I'm noticing an odd trend of objects surviving a lot longer in Tenured space of the Heap through out the game. You'd think this would be a good thing, but the end result is GC kicking in every couple minutes because the heap is full.

Total VM RAM usage is still around 480MB.
