I have a storm driver, I've been thinking of picking up a Polaris, as it seems like it would be a superior weapon...

But, I figured I'd ask for some advice before I sink all that time/crowns/energy into getting another gun that might not be better after all :P

So, those who have pulsar/polaris, what do you think of it?

Pulsar explosions are pretty

Pulsar explosions are pretty situational when it comes to comboing them, unless the enemy is cornered or at a wall, basically the knockback from the explosions will knock him away in a rather not predictable direction. I'd stay with storm driver if i were you or just get a Pulsar and use it a little in Tier 2, better to get some experience yourself for it, not like there is anything other to spend tokens from IMF on.

The range on the Pulsar is

The range on the Pulsar is flat out superior to alchemers (at least, between 2* versions). As I primarily use the gun against Gun Puppies, I like the extra range on the Pulsar.

Also,

The Pulsar is more ideal for dealing damage only to one single enemy while the Driver is ideal for crowd controlling. Consider that the Pulsar has more damage (according to the bars) and has 3 clip shots, that is if you used max-ranged bullets, while the Driver has less damage and has only 2 clip shots. Though the ricochet effect of the Driver compensates the lack in damage making it more of a ricochet-power-based gun. So Pulsar would have mor DPS to single enemies while the Driver can hit multiple enemies.

After the constant

After the constant frustration of having my cryotech's ricochet accidentally hitting switches in IMF, I'd say Polaris. IT's more controllable, and the AOE is much better if your enemies are side by side. On the plus side you don't actually have to hit your enemies to damage them. The end explosion of the expanded bullet does damage to anything nearby, which is a HUGe plus for herding mobs the way you want them to go.
