The new heart pads are a nice change: by healing as we stand on them, they turn an unintended weird behavior (running in circles) into a more efficient way to heal.
In that spirit, I thought I'd collect some other things that could be improved with relatively small UI tweaks. Has anyone else noticed odd or confusing behavior that just needs a small change?
- Trade windows prevent scrolling in chat- Even if the scroll buttons are visible, they can not be used while a trade window is open. That makes it hard for people in busy areas to discuss a trade.
- Team messages and vials are both triggered with number keys- Vials and team messages are both used via number keys (the latter using the numpad). Laptops don't have a numerical keypad, though, turning desperate efforts to heal into cries of "Hey! Follow me!". This can be fixed by changing the default key settings to avoid overlap.
- Vendor lists should be sortable to show items that you already own, and recipes that you already own/know.
The team message/vial hotkey overlap seems to be specific to certain laptops. SK specifies NUMPAD# for the messages, so that would mean that the laptop keyboard is sending dual # and NUMPAD# commands per press or the operating system simply doesn't distinguish a difference.
On a laptop where you must press a modifier key (like a Fn button) to use a number pad layout this isn't an issue.
