Swiftstrike Buckler Question
I already know of its much-desired ability to boost attack speed with all weapons. However, I gotta ask that when an emergency situation arises where you need to use it as a proper shield, how does it stack up to the likes of normally used shields like the Owlite series?

In T3, you can do some shield bumping and take a gun puppy bullet or two. it depends on how good you are at not getting hit. I tend to use my swiftstrike on stratum 5, but switch to my owlite on stratum 6, or in strata with devilites, sometimes I use the owlite if there are going to be lots of kats, etc. I suspect that as I improve/get used to it, I'll use the swiftstrike even more.
How well you can deal with this has a lot to do with your playing style. I do a lot of gunning/bombing, so I spend a very large amount of time running around without shields anyway. I suspect that if I was primarily a sword user, I would find giving up my owlite much harder.

It basically lasts for 1 hit on most things. 2 if you're lucky. When it breaks, status effects will push through. So in FSC, you block big attack, your shield will burst, and you'll get set on fire.
Works decently in most T2 levels. Easy to use in T3 if you know what you're doing. Tricky to use and unforgiving in FSC, but still possible.

I don't like it even in T2. The speed doesn't really make up for the reduced shielding capability, for me. I even prefer a boosted plate shield.
But using it was certainly an interesting experience, and I don't feel like I wasted my money on it.

Playing with swiftstrike solo in t3 was a great learning experience.
I learned to dodge monsters, bullets, and space much better.
The biggest drawback was that I had a ton of problems adjusting safely down to having normal attack speed again; but the rest (dodging) carries over.

If you want to practice dodging, why not just bring a proto shield? You don't get thrown off with the weird timing due to the increased attack speed.

I'd advice Skelly Shield if you have issues with devilites and kats - Owlite Shield is mediocre at best when it comes to those monsters.

Because it's easier/safer to dodge when you have more attack speed :D

The Swiftstrike shield is a 3* shield. That should be good for all of T2, anyone who is doing T3 should certainly be able to use it that way. Using a 3* shield in T3 is pushing it, but still doable.
In those rare emergencies where you need a real shield you'll wish you had a Grey Owlite. The biggest issue with Swiftstrike is that it only goes up to 3*, making it quite viable for T2 but one-hit in T3. With enough practice dodging someone can use Swiftstrike quite successfully in T3 since all shields are capable of common techniques such as shield canceling and shield bumping, just can't rely on it to do actual shielding for long.
