You know DrLequack, I actually did that once in Tier 3.
Turns out the Mewkat does not drop anything.
2k wasted CE.
That's what you get for killing a Mewkat 200+ times.
Knight says, "Aww it is so cute" then proceeds to kick the cutest thing ever.
lol.
I suspected that they might have re-added them to the game along with the Magikat hat because of the knight depicted wearing said hat in the Power Surge promo art..
I mean, really, who would make promo art depicting gear that does not exist?
And just because someone killed one a billion times in a row doesn't mean it doesn't drop the hat. There might be some kind of simple failsafe to prevent farming in that manner. Something like, the ability for it to drop the hat being completely disabled as soon as you do anything even vaguely resembling an update...
Or, here's a really crazy idea... maybe it doesn't drop the hats when you KILL it, maybe you have to do something far less obvious and less violent instead. Like put it to sleep or.. push it all the way to the end of the level or.. speak a special password within sight of it or something like that.
I've long suspected that maybe those Mustache Jellies are the same way, and for all these months we've ALL been missing out on some kind of ultra rare drop because newbies kill the thing faster than I can even hit my screenshot button every time it appears.
going solo to re-kill something isn't allowed. -and is the reason heart pendants now auto bind- Admitting you do it in the forums isn't the wisest.
regardless, whether the monster drops something seems to be preset, and when you solo the dropping stays same, nadda.

Though mewkat is cuter :<
I just came across a Mewkat after reading this post. http://oi52.tinypic.com/2wfihdg.jpg
If there's a Mewcat hat, I feel bad for just getting a dark shard from it. lol
Lol, bouncing him back and fourth...
If you really wanted to get a mewcat hat, you can have someone go solo, kill it, and rejoin you, then solo again until they get one, than have them stay with the surviving copy while you do what they did. Not worth it for a mewcat hat, since it stays at 3*, but useful for T3 love puppies.
