I came across this, I've seen this before on the forums but if I recall correctly the image I saw on the forums before did not have an energy cost on it.
Anyone know what causes the elevator screen image to change?

Gate closed.
The gate closed (it cycled) while you were still playing it. The exit elevator icon gets replaced by that.
This happens when the gate changes while you're inside.
