I suggest dual wield guns.
In place of ylur shield you can put a gun there and shoot it with the shield button

Hey, some people just like being suicidal. Dual Bombs and guns would be great cuz u really don't use ure shield anyway or take much damage. And what the heck are you saying about lag?

Tried using an autogun or a fast sword, gagestowers3? Half the hits disappear into nothing because the server simply can't keep up with all the attacks.
Since dual-wielding would double the firerate of any gun, you'd get exponentially more disappearing bullets.

RE: Shields
I agree with the fact that most people tend not to use shields. My geuss is when you see a monster attacking it takes too long to put up your shield, or you are already in the middle of attacking a different monster. I use a combination of WASD for movement and Mouse for attack. I did re-map x to F recently, so I am now using the shield more often; but not that much. I guess in the heat of battle, people would rather attack than waste some time putting u their shield.

I actually like this idea.
Make it so that monsters attack players with dual shields more, increase regen rate, increase shield collision, and allow shield bumping to do damage. Boom, tank class. Bombers/Gunners best friends.

To the contrary, most players do use shields. The ones that don't are really awful at the game, and need to learn how to play. That's easier to do if all it means is to start using a button that they haven't previously been using. Hopefully after people die several times, they figure out that they're doing something wrong and adapt.
But it's harder to learn if you can't do anything until you either give up and go back to haven or have teammates carry you to the end of the stratum so that you can equip a shield. And even then, if they don't realize that they're supposed to equip a shield, that won't do them any good.
If someone who picked up the game half an hour ago is still terrible at it, that's fine. It takes time for new players to learn to play. That's what tier 1 is for. But let's not try to trick them into sabotaging themselves, so that they'll remain awful at the game for much longer than necessary.

Needle strike
For future reference Needle Strike is a single attack so the server does not have trouble keeping up with it because it is all one set animation. As for Hunting Blade, chances are that you do not have your attack speed increased enough to allow you to hit fast enough to see the attacks drop.
If you want to see the bullets go poof try using Antigua with Swiftstrike Buckler and Nameless Hat and Poncho. Then simply click as fast as you can.
