My next bomb... (Help needed)

Alright, so I've recently started my transition to a full bomber. Currently I have a Mad Bomber Set, Nitronome, Shivermist Buster, and Radiant Sun Shards. I've been looking for clues as to what is my next move and I've come up with either Graviton Vortex or Dark Briar Barrage. So I'd like the better bombers expertise on this.

I know some might say something out of the Haze series, but I *REALLY* find the Haze series incredibly boring to use, whenever I'm dropping Nitronomes and Sun Shards causing mayhem I find myself enjoying the game far more than I had before, however when I'm on Shivermist duty I think I have dozed off once or twice out of sheer boredom.

I'd say right now I have the most trouble dealing with Retrodes, Greavers (bats), Gremlins, and Devilites.... MAYBE also a little of trouble with Kats.

Note: I'm not completely disregarding the haze series, but I would prefer suggestions on bombs that would help me tackle different scenarios rather than just spamming status effects.

Generally I would encourage

Generally I would encourage the Graviton. But in your case I truly think that the Barrage will do you better. I'd wait for more opinions on the subject, but with the Mad Bomber Set you want bombs that can deal out damage. Furthermore, your current bomb setup won't combo all that well with the Graviton. Sure you can freeze them but you then what? Nitronome them and knock them away? Pick at them with Sun Shards?

And to compound all this, you're having trouble with monsters who are primarily weak to piercing. A fellow guild mate of mine loves the Barrage against Fiends and I think you'd find it a lot more helpful than the Graviton.

Your choice is between Dark

Your choice is between Dark Briar Barrage? Well, the DBB is just a really awesome looking piercing damage bomb; not much else to it.. although I think it has absolutely no push, is that right?

The graviton bomb does somewhat less damage than a normal bomb. Its main purpose is for a very special kind of crowd control; it won't stop ranged enemies from attacking, or even the melee ones if you get into that distance, but what it does do is get all the enemies all clustered together nice and tight and keep them there for a while. It's great if you want to throw some vials or have a Pulsar or something; not sure how well it would combo with your other bombs, there.

That's why I was looking at

That's why I was looking at the DBB, primarily because I think it would help me against Fiends and Gremlins (even though gremlins aren't weak to piercing, they aren't resistant either) with kiting tactics. The reason I am not really looking into much else is primarily because I don't think there is much else to look at (other than Haze bombs).

I was also looking into Graviton because I thought Gravi > Shiver > Nitro could work as a combo, but other than that I wasn't really sure. At this point I am leaning towards a DBB (I have learned Twisted Spine and Spike shower), but I am open to other suggestions than the ones mentioned. I still have to run snarbolax twice to get a Spine Cone though, so it's going to take some time.

EDIT: BTW, Retrodes are currently my worst enemy.

Shivermist Buster-You don't

Shivermist Buster - You don't use this bomb to kill enemies! Its purpose is to stick enemies in place so you can attack them without getting hurt.
Venom Veiler - Use this bomb to weaken enemies and stop them from regaining health.
Ash of Agni - Use this bomb to slowly take away enemies health although don't use it around Oilers.
Voltaic Tempest - This new bomb works the same way as the Haze Bomb series, they are exactly the same only that you acquire this bomb from Bark Modules. Use this bomb to cause random spasms to enemies which interrupts whatever they are doing and take health away.
Graviton Vortex - Sucks enemies into the bomb and then an explosion flings them out in every direction. The fling is a bit unpredictable so Shivermist Buster works better for a crowd control bomb. However you can combine Shivermist with Graviton so that explosion only break the ice but not fling them out. Since you are having trouble with loads of enemies who resist Shadow damage from Graviton, I don't recommend you get this bomb.
Dark Briar Barrage - The only pure Piercing bomb (Ionized Salt Bomb deals split Piercing/Normal damage). Great bomb which will help you deal with your most troubling enemies but no (or little?) knockback.
Big Angry Bomb and Irontech Destroyer - Many people consider Nitronome better.

Alright, so far I'm leaning

Alright, so far I'm leaning towards DBB, but I'm open to hearing more suggestions.
