So I just crafted a max shadow wolver cap and I was wondering about whether to go for vog of skolver. The way I see it, fire is much more useful than freeze resist, elemental is slightly better than piercing, and attack damage is way better than attack speed. I will not be doing only vanaduke runs but I will definitely do a lot. The crux of the matter for me is how much does medium sword damage vs medium sword speed differ in damage per second? Thanks for any insight!
Skolver Vs Vog Question
Thanks for the post! I am currently using a medium charge time reduction UV combuster and a gran faust.
I use the Skolver and Thorn shield setup and it has increased my damage by 32-40%. I can't speak for people that use vog, but with the merchant coming out I will put max fire resist on the cap, max elemental defense on the coat, and I am undecided on the shield.
I run a combuster (165% or so damage against constructs and undead,) dread vemon striker (poison reduces atk and def, making my hits do even more damage,) Divine Avenger (love this guy, even though he's slow he's a beast) and the ardent peacemaker. I also like to run a grav bomb sometimes and various swords.
It's all personal choice, everyone likes to pick vog over skolver it seems but I like seeing 650+ damage from charge attacks on my combuster.
It depends what kind of sword you have. If it's Da and GF, you will get mor DPS with attack speed. If it's brandish line, and calibur, damage is probably SLIGHTLY better. If it's a mix, I imagine that attack speed is better anyway. I am going VOG all the way. I use a silent nightblade, along with an avenger. BTW, ik that it is better with heavy swords. Not others
