It is obviously something that is only doable with 2+ players but this is the first time I've met something like this. It feels so unfair!.
I've called for a GM but it has been almost an hour. I am stubborn!

Couldn't you shoot that switch from behind the gate?

Oh, I was talking about the wrong switch.

Oh, I remember that room.

Oh, I remember that room. Weren't there rocket puppies on the other side of those gates? ...in which case, you shouldn't kill them until they blow up the blocks for you. Maybe they should be put on regenerating blocks until the switches are hit, though.

There were nothing on the other side, this is the first time I encountered something like this. I know I can just move on since this is a really minor issue and the boxes aren't worth the time, but it is just gnawing on me.

It's quite easily doable on a solo run. I'm surprised that even after you watched your own video that you still can't figure it out.

I prefer the B-sharp minor scale.

Maybe this could be solved in the meantime with bombs? I.E. place a bomb at a switch, hit the middle switch gate, and run behind the gate, then hit the ghost block and etc.

Actually, you just reminded me of the Aurora Isles: Stone Grove thing, where the key for the locked gate to seven treasure boxes doesn't exist.

I've been there today with a party and there were two rocket puppies at the treasure 'rooms' gates.
You are supposed to attract to puppie's attention and hit the switch, so the puppy's rocket hit the breakable box.

If there realy were no puppies, then it must be some kind of bug.

I've done this room several times. Quite easily. You do have to race the gate, but it's possible. Shoot the middle switch, then the switch on the left, and quickly run and hit the block.

you guys aren't watching the video

... you cannot open one of the gates without closing the other. Even if the big angry bomb's fuse time is long enough (which I actually doubt), why would you carry a BAB (which is a pretty terrible bomb) on the off chance of running into this obviously-meant-to-encourage-partying puzzle? Think of this puzzle as a poor luck for soloists.

What's going on is you did

What's going on is you did the same thing 3 times in row and expected different results.

Maybe try a different combination next time instead of the same one 3 times.

Rocket Puppies

I've been there many times and ALWAYS there were Rocket Puppies that could be "persuaded" to hit ghost blocks. If no Rocket Puppies appeared in your case it must have been bug.

Guys, the key to the gate in the Aurora Isles: Stone Grove does exist. If you can't find it you don't deserve the treasure.

Watch yourself in that video.

Watch yourself in that video. Watch yourself do exactly the same thing multiple times. Watch yourself get frustrated because the result doesn't change every time you repeat the same action.

The key to a puzzle (if you can even call it that) is to try something DIFFERENT if your initial solution doesn't work.

Only answer is there were

Only answer is there were rocket puppies that got killed, or there were no rocket puppies which would (possibly?) be a bug. There is absolutely no way to do it without a party member or without puppies there. No combination of hitting switches will result in being able to hit those blocks if you're solo and the puppies are gone.

@milkman797
I was just to the Aurora Isles: Stone Grove for my very first time today...by myself even...and I figured it out without even thinking. Kinda sad people can't find that key lol.

Hey, you know that one puzzle

Hey, you know that one puzzle in the Scarlet Fortress? I can't solo it without taking damage, since I don't have a gun. Any ideas guys?

This one's worse but at least it's not required to finish the level. The one in Scarlet Fortress is. >:(

Its easy solo I've done it several times. You have to be quick.
1.Hit the middle switch
2.Hit the left switch
3.Run up and blast the ghost block
4.Push button for prizes.
5.Repeat for right side.

Which puzzle, and which stage? There are six Scarlet Fortress stages.

Perhaps you are talking about the Gun Puppy corridor with the spikes in Grim Gallery? Does anyone know if there's anything stopping you from just running past them?

Or maybe the switch-gate puzzle right before that corridor? (The solution is to hit the center switch and the eastern switch once each, in any order.)

@Silty

I know the puzzle you are talking about in the scarlet fortress levels. For a while I just avoided it, thinking it was actually impossible to accomplish with just bombs. The key is to time everything appropriately and use vials in place of a gun... they are better in fact, because they go forever until they run into something.

The physics of astronomy is "simple", says that ugly Brit.

"Guys,"

Just me.

"the key to the gate in the Aurora Isles: Stone Grove does exist. If you can't find it you don't deserve the treasure."

...what?

"I was just to the Aurora Isles: Stone Grove for my very first time today...by myself even...and I figured it out without even thinking. Kinda sad people can't find that key lol."

So it's sad that because something was immediately apparent to you and not to a few others, that's sad? I guess you're not much of a people person.

No...what was sad is that

No...what was sad is that people are saying it's "impossible" when I'm a simple noob to this game and didn't find it hard at all. I mean, if you're halfway observant at all and not just rushing to finish things (like most kids these days wanting everything right NAOW GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!!), it's easy.

And if you want the answer...then destroy ALL stone blocks. You'll find a random one with a switch that gives you the key.
Simple...no?

Current mood: I burned my tongue on an oven range.

I'm not one to demand instant gratification. I'd gone back and forth several times having visited this particular area on multiple occasions, and it confused me because keys usually are in some room to the side (wiki says this is the only area with a hidden key).

I never even read the wiki

I never even read the wiki and had no idea there was a "hidden key". I suppose you can just call me anal in that I need to destroy every block I see on any map just because I think it may drop me a crown. I guess I got lucky on this map by destroying stone blocks and hit a buried switch that gave me a key.
