In case you didn't already know, you can cancel the end of the sword swing animation by blocking at the right time. This is in every way superior to allowing the full animation because you defend quicker, attack again quicker, or just plain move quicker after attacking. The downside is that it looks kinda silly and is very counter intuitive. It's gotten to the point where I instinctively block after pretty much every attack.
Three Rings developers, why not simply make the delay after attacking by default be the same time as the block-canceling technique? Or even better, allow the player to be able to move while swinging their sword. I personally think you should even be allowed to attack WHILE BLOCKING, since there is a built-in penalty for trying to block every single incoming attack.
Similarly, I would like to be able to revive players and pick up keys while on the move, instead of stopping. And don't even get me starting on the gun reloading animation.
I think this would loosen up the gameplay for the better. Something about being rooted in place while I swing my sword just makes it feel clunky.
