Attack animation cancelling by blocking

In case you didn't already know, you can cancel the end of the sword swing animation by blocking at the right time. This is in every way superior to allowing the full animation because you defend quicker, attack again quicker, or just plain move quicker after attacking. The downside is that it looks kinda silly and is very counter intuitive. It's gotten to the point where I instinctively block after pretty much every attack.

Three Rings developers, why not simply make the delay after attacking by default be the same time as the block-canceling technique? Or even better, allow the player to be able to move while swinging their sword. I personally think you should even be allowed to attack WHILE BLOCKING, since there is a built-in penalty for trying to block every single incoming attack.
Similarly, I would like to be able to revive players and pick up keys while on the move, instead of stopping. And don't even get me starting on the gun reloading animation.

I think this would loosen up the gameplay for the better. Something about being rooted in place while I swing my sword just makes it feel clunky.

that's called good thinking no need to punish it

because THAT would look silly and unnatural

i would "intelligently contest" your argument if there was something intelligent about these suggestions

shield cancelling is a part of this game there is zero need for them to change what works now

attacking while blocking is just lazy design and would only serve to incourage shield huggers to the point where they wouldnt even let down their shields when it breaks

the reloading animation has actually been discussed multiple times before it is a necessity in order to balance guns.

HA HA HA!!!

Shield cancelling -- or anything cancelling really -- has been part of games for ages and ages. If you figure out how to use them to your advantage then yay, it means you're actually thinking while playing instead of smacking the buttons mindlessly. No need to punish that.

Which overall get's rid of your second point.

As for attacking while blocking, that's just a big ass NO. It's ridiculous and stupid and fomments the kind of game play of simply smacking away while always having your shield up until it breaks. Again, it makes people play stupidly instead of the smart way.

And there is nothing wrong with the guns and their reloding -- in fact they're even better now after OOO gave them a small tweak. Learn to use them and figure out how to shoot forever without ever going into the reload animation if that bothers you so much.

Again, smart playing.

I kinda agree about revival

Right now you have to stand next to a dead player for a bit before it works and then sometimes it doesn't anyway.

I thought this was an action game not The Path.
