Can someone give me a detailed explination why nobody is using a drake scale and angelic combo?
together they cover every damage type. Im about to buy them and i feel like im missing something.
drake scale and angelic
Blitzares,
I am considering doing the same thing actually. I don't buy the one set of armor for this and another for that, not at least until I see a full gate to terminal of piercing monster or elemental monsters.
Curious, what shield you think of using?
Best,
Baines
You need to be able to have a reliable shield. The defenses of the shield do not stack upon your armor. Shield stats apply only when you have your shield active, and since you will be doing a lot of shielding, it is better to have some stats that you will need badly, like elemental. With that said, the drake scale line does indeed have elemental, and in tier three that it will protect well in certain situations, but the lack of normal damage makes it more fragile than you would like it to be.
It does seem like a very interesting idea, but the thing is that allocating defenses evenly between all armor and shield simply doesn't work that well. Its better to know your weak points as a player and devise a setup that will cover that up. I will say, though, that you probably will be able to get through tier 2 with that setup just fine, but tier 3 will screw you over.
Skolver + Divine works well too. I had it on the first knight I made and it complimented the CIV really well. Don't listen to the "one set blah blah blah" thing. Though its good, its expensive. It also doesn't mean you'd die less. This game is more about your skill level and you're not supposed to get hit, at all. Equips are there to help you if you DO get hit, but again, you shouldn't be getting hit that much to the point where you die.
Most MMORPG's are all about getting hit a few times and getting the best gear.
Spiral Knights is a unique type of MMORGP. You're supposed to trade blows without having damage dealt to you.
I actually made this set to see how it would work, and likebread said it - the combo works well in tier two, but I did some tier 3 with a buddy of mine and if I ever got hit by ANYTHING I got destroyed. So it's true that spreading your defenses over everything isn't a really good choice.... now I have to build another set of 5* armor.
you don't really want general armor, and if you did, you would probably want it loaded with elemental defense. What you really want is an armor set for shadow strata, an armor set for piercing, and one for elemental... and honestly, you'll probably want some elemental on your shadow/piercing sets at all times 'cause there are mecha knights and gun puppies everywhere.
Also, this has been said elsewhere by lotsa folks. I tip my hat to those who explained it to me.
