Is it true that all enemies that deal elemental/shadow/piercing also deal 50% normal damage with every attack?

I assume this is the case, otherwise normal damage isn't that common.

100% normal damage in tier 1,

100% normal damage in tier 1, 50% in tier 2 and 0% in tier 3.
Some attacks deal pure normal damage in every tier.

and 0% in tier 3. Wrong.

and 0% in tier 3.

Wrong. Enemies can still give split damage in Tier 3, they are simply more likely to give pure non-normal damage.

Wait, so every attack from

Wait, so every attack from every enemy does pure normal damage in Tier 1?

... and non-normal attacks in tier 2 all deal 50% normal damage?

This is a little hard to follow, do some enemies deal partial normal and some don't?

Well.. the esiest way to tell

Well.. the esiest way to tell what damage they acctualy deal is to look at all the small pips that fly of you when you take damage.
The color of them are the same color as the damage type.

Red = Normal
Green = Elemental
Yellow = Piercing
Purple = Shadow

Whenever an enemie attacks, there is a colored aura on what type of attack it does (colors listed above).
Lets say an enemie attacks and the aura is red, then the attack is pure Normal, no matter what tier.
If the aura is green;
Tier 1: The damage is pure normal
Tier 2: The damage is 50% normal and 50% elemental
Tier 3: The damage is 100% elemental, with a few ecceptions..

Okay, I'm pretty sure I get it now, thanks for elaborating.

Exceptions? Sounds mysterious.

The impression I got was more

The impression I got was more along the lines of:
Tier 1: The damage is pure normal
Tier 2: The damage is 50% normal and 50% special type
Tier 3: The damage is 20(?)% normal and 80(?)% special type; exception being gun and rocket puppies, which deal 100% elemental.
I have question marks on the 20/80 because I don't know the exact ratio, but I'm pretty certain most T3 enemies still deal a hefty normal component. Hence why full Divine set makes you dead meat in FSC, even though the massive elemental/shadow defense should make slag walker swipes mere scratches. Can anyone help verify or disprove this?

BTW, did a tier 1 run and I'm quite certain I saw yellow blocks pop off someone's health in addition to red blocks on getting bitten by an alpha wolver.

You can occasionally get

You can occasionally get enemies from the next strata difficulty in the current one, so if you're in strata 2(2nd half of tier 1) you can occasionally find an enemy from strata 3(in this case tier 2, which would do split damage).

I'm pretty sure the damage

I'm pretty sure the damage ratio is the same on every tier. :/ Namely 50% normal, 50% whatever the monster's damage type is.

This is for things like gremlin thwackers, who do 100% normal damage in all tiers.

Can I get one or two other people to confirm this? I'm not doubting you but I have been getting a few mixed answers here and there, so clearly a number of people aren't completely aware of this. BTW thanks for the answers, everyone.
