which control do you guys most prefer?? :P
i think i prefer keyboard since mouse clicking is hard work
but mouse gives more freedom but just teh repeated clicking might break my mouse :P

If I use a handgun, I use the keyboard (asdw) to move and aim with my mouse. Otherwise, it's keyboard all the way!
I have actually been playing with my Mac laptop, depending on situation I have found it pretty easy to use WASD + Z / X as well as the trackpad for direction, and sometimes for movement. No Mouse involved what so ever. :)
I use an Xbox gamepad whenever I can.
My gamepad broke :(
I use keyboard AND mouse...
When I am using my sword, I use the arrow keys and the attack and block button,
when I am using my gun, I switch to WASD and use my mouse
then I quickly switch back to the sword form...
I have found the most efficent way to gun or sword for me is using WASD and I set my left click for shield, and right click to Attack/Action, so I can quickly switch between shooting and shielding, or slashing and shielding. I have told this to a few ppl that have told me later on that this setup has greatly increased their skill in the clockworks. I also set my middle mouse wheel to click for my #1 vial spot, and I usually put a Healing Vial in that spot so that I can also quickly heal with the click of my mouse.
I have two setups. I use arrow keys for movement and fds for attacking, shielding, and strafing for when I'm using a sword or bomb. When I'm using a projectile, I use mouse to aim, and 1, tab, q, and w for moving.
I use WASD to move, left and rightclicks for direction and attack/talk/pickup/read/ect.
Learned it playing Guild Wars way back, kinda stuck.
All this rightclicking is going to give me Carpal Tunnel though.
WASD and left click to move (I like clicking if I have to travel through sections already cleared), left click to attack, scroll wheel (mouse button 3) click for shield, and space to change weapons.
I use a PS3 controller, although using a gun is very awkward with it, so I may try WASD + trackpad in the future.
I like to stick to combination WASD/left-click (so I can perform beeline movements or tactical strafing as the situation requires) myself. Though I, like some others, have put my shield on the mouse as well, as the middle button.
I use both.
Definetly the most confortable for me.
I've been trying to think about how to be..less terrible at my controls. I end up swapping alot, using wasd out of combat, while in combat using my mouse to move and spacebar to attack. This has sofar proven to be pretty inefficient and kinda dumb, and making me a prime target for directed attacks. I think I need to try some mass rebinding, but the tricky part is making sure you have all the buttons covered as things get unbound. I'm liking the idea to use the mouse for the attack/shield and leave movement up to wasd. While I would still be bad at using the strafe due to the dual button pressing, if I have my mouse as attack I'm facing where I want to attack, not where I want to move, which would make circling mobs easier. I still have to get better at remembering I have a shield though.
Gaming mouse :3 all the way, i only play with the keys if my laptop isn;t someplace flat.
I use keyboard and mouse as well, but I will try my controller to see more like I'm playing PS1 :D
Other then the 12345 and X keys I use the mouse to move and attack.
I just thought about xpadder, yah that would work for my gamepad
Gamepad.
Debinnv, the game has built in gamepad support. You shouldn't need Xpadder.
WASD = move
Left-click = attack
Right-click = shield
Space = switch weapon
I either use a Xbox 360 Controller or a PlayStation 3 controller. Depends on my mood. :)
After I saw this thread a few days ago, I set up my logitech gamepad.......................SO much easier for me.
I use WASD for movement. Mouse for facing. Right click for shield and left click for attack. Middle mouse wheel for weapon switch. Numbers for stuff. Though I may steal the middle mouse will for item slot one :P
I enjoy using my 360 controller for tier 1 but I find that I have to have the precision WASD + mouse gives for tier 2. If there was simply a "targeting laser" for using guns then I'd probably use the gamepad exclusively.
The only thing I don't like about wasd + mouse is that it's hard to keep moving and use an item at the same time. I'm tempted to get a mouse with more buttons just for this.
I use WASD and mouse, gives excellent aim, and its easy to move with WASD, ofc left handed ppl would use IJKL in this situation
