Just thought I would flex my E-peen.
I solo'd from haven to the core and didn't die scoring the dauntless delver achievement.

That is all. =)

You trollin brah?
Yeah, you jealous ^_^
http://steamcommunity.com/stats/SpiralKnights/achievements
Less than 0.1% of all Spiral Knights players on Steam have Dauntless Delver. (I don't have information on non-Steam players, but still.)
It's not THAT hard to get... It just takes a little patience and caution. (Which, admittedly, ARE foreign concepts to 99.9% of Spiral Knights players...) Though not everyone has 230 energy to burn in one setting.
So I did it during Power Surge Weekend. Didn't even need to spend CE, as 15 Mist regenerated during the trip. But then Cradle And All didn't stay unlocked, so I had to go run ANOTHER start-to-finish trip two days later...
...Actually, doublecheck your achievements list. You might have to re-run Cradle and All as well, unless you received it on a previous run.
but ... according to those stats
it seems that nearly 1 in 5 players... haven't even set foot in haven..
probably had 1 look at the game and quit? or installed by never played?
and less than half haven even reached the first terminal..
i think a lot of those figures are inflated
so you'd have a higher percent or proper players to have gotten dauntless?
Replicant is incapable of being anything but a snide ass, ignore him.
Nice job.
Okay, so we'll go with the 41-42% of players who have reached a Terminal.
That brings us up from less than 0.1%... to less than 0.25% of Steam players having Dauntless Delver.
"Fewer than 1 in 400" is stiiiilll pretty uncommon there.
It really is pretty easy. I have had mine for about a month, got it on a solo run from Haven to the Core.
Yeah, it's not that hard (unless you picked a gate where Stratum 6 was Vanaduke or Fiend themed). It's more about the fact that not many people are willing to actually try it, or don't have the time to do so. And if you mess up, you can still go for Cradle And All-- since you can't unlock both of them on the same run for some reason.
To the jaded souls and their chorus of "meh," I say, "WHATEVER."
Congrats on your Dauntless Delver. :)
You can get Dauntless Delver and Cradle and all at the same time.
The evidence is right here in the datestamps: I got Dauntless Delver on Jul 15, 2011; I got Cradle And All on Jul 17, 2011 (when I got fed up and plunged down again) This should be impossible.
In fact, here's a Steam screenshot taken in celebration upon reaching the Core on July 15th. You can see that Cradle And All is unlocked clientside (it's behind the tooltip). Steam deleted Cradle And All from my achievement list when I logged out and back in.
Pelikin, please double-check to see if you still have both achievements recorded.
For bragging rights I would take that a step further down to the Go Deep achievement. Only about 1.5% of the Steam players in those stats have access to tier 3. Meaning only that many are capable of attempting to do the full run achievements. Technically you could throw in all those who have some activity in the game, but would you? Since this is all sort of about epeen. Would you really compare yourself to people who don't even have access to compete? Be it skill, or money, or if they quit before reaching T3. They're just not in the running to begin with.
So if you look at those who can run T3 by the Steam stats. Maybe (using your estimates) it's more like less than 6.7%, and 6.7 in 100, or 1 in 15ish.
So every 15th T3 player you see that plays via Steam has these achievements.
That also says that 0% of players have gold survivor, and that one is pretty easy. You do tier 3 much, you get gold survivor, without particularly trying for it. What I think is really weird is that there are as many people with hardcore (complete tier 3) as silver survivor (complete tier 2 without dying). Why do people even try tier 3 if they can't handle tier 2?
Dauntless delver or cradle and all are ones that you actually have to go out of your way to get. Anyway, congratulations. Now you don't have to set aside a block of time of several hours to do that again.
My estimates go by the possibility that 0.09% of Steam players have the achievement-- by the assumption that the Steam stats page truncates rather than rounding. It's basically estimating the highest percentage of people that can possibly have Dauntless Delver.
In order to get proper odds, we'd need the total sample size in number or percentage, and then divide out the number or percentage (respectively) of people that have completed that achievement.
The number of Steam players with Dauntless Delver is so small that it just shows zero. Dividing by zero is bad news.
More than 99.9% of the Spiral Knights players on Steam cannot, will not, or have not done what Pelikins has done (and of those who have, not all of them were solo). It's kind of odd to say that it's nothing out of the ordinary.
According to Wikipedia's listing of WWE personnel, there are 54 male superstars in Raw and Smackdown combined, and 5 championship title holders among them. Percentage-wise, there are fewer Dauntless Delvers among Steam's Tier 3 players than there are champions among the WWE's men.
Woah! This has been a busy thread since I replied this morning!
To answer the question the I was asked:
No, only 1 achievement was awarded to me.
I should of been awarded 3:
Dauntless Delver
Gold Survivor
Cradle and All
But I only got DD.
I went back over my lunch break and got Gold Survivor today.
I'll go back again tonight for Cradle and All.
Thanks to all who were positive about my e-peen post! Appreciate it!
To all that were trolls...DIAF!
Just playin, we need you!
(To fry our hamburgers, sweep the floors, do dishes...you make our lunch hours worth the trip from the office)
Congratulations. You are now a mediocre player.
