so after the patch, the ce price go down from 6k to around 5k
is it a good thing? or lowering the value of the game?
ce price go down?
You guys do know that it's not the devs who set CE prices right?
We really need a sticky CE thread. Every time CE prices move more than 50 crowns somebody has to create a new thread and tell us all.
Is the price reduction somehow related to a possible reduction in the availability of crowns in each level? My last T1 run got me very few crowns...
Rejoice, this is a direct effect of the new UV shop from the gremlins.
People want crowns to add new UV to their weapons but they aint patient to use their CE to do runs, so they just sell 300 ce for 15k crowns to get a roll for UV.
Newbs get CE at cheaper prices.
Everyone is happy
there's a solid crown sink now for players holding large amounts of CE... the econoamy seems much healthier now
Exactly. Before, CE was the ultimate currency (and in many ways still is). You needed energy for crafting, to do levels, to revive if needed. All those things still hold true, but now there's an actual need for crowns, a DEMAND for them. Before, you could convert CE into crowns just as a convenience for some things. Now, crowns are REQUIRED for a UV roll, so people who need the huge amount of crowns sell energy to get them.
It's not a perfect balance, because you only need crowns for that one thing while you need CE for many others, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
It's not that the value of CE has dropped, but that the value of crowns has increased. That's a very good thing because with a powerful crown sink it will keep CE prices in check. For more progressed players it's not a big deal, but for newbies and F2P only it will keep actually playing possible.
CE will probably go back up soon. I mean soon people will do runs and realise they are now making profit because you get more crowns per ce down there!
Personally, I like the lowered CE prices for the time being. It makes it easier to play the game the way it is advertised (being free) and gives us a chance to buy CE for alchemy and such without having to use a credit card. Granted, I'm someone without much CE as is, so for those selling their CE for crowns, its a bad thing (but why not just go kill some enemies with mist energy? crowns are more renewable than CE).
It's really interesting when it falls down to 4k.
I freaked out today cuz I saw the CE prices were around 4,900 CR instead of the usual 6,000+ CR. I was like, "OMG!!!" and took a screenshot. :P
Oh, and I bought some CE for crafting. The price was around 4,910 so I'm pretty happy. Hopefully it didn't add to the rising prices, though. ^^;
Yes. F2P gets it for cheaper, and P2P doesn't need to care, they can buy as a much as they want.
If you want to make profit, then buy low sell high, sell all your energy now, because the price is not going back up anytime soon.
That's the opposite of 'buy low, sell high'.
Even though the energy price we have now is cheaper compare to last week, the thing is the momentum of the price getting cheaper hasn't stopped, it will get even cheaper in the following days, so if you sell all your energy now, and buy them back in a couple days, you just made lots of profit.
Eventually CE prices will go up. People will stop buying CE with real money because they'll realize the amount of profit gained from selling it to players will be very low. This leads to a low supply (little amount of CE in market) and high demand (people willing to pay more crowns for CE).

Of course the price will go up eventually, the question is when, one thing is sure, it's not at the moment. The price is still going down as we speak. the wise thing to do now is sell all you CE.
i am buying as much ce as i can
wait i wasn't supposed to say that...

Price has been staying around 5k since shortly after update a couple of days ago. There's no indication it will go much lower and every reason for it to go higher once people get tired of the novelty of UV gambling.
Yes, a lot of people who aren't shooting for high end items are rolling. But a good number of the people who are rolling, are actually trying to obtain rare UV's. So it will remain a crown sink for as long as people want UV's.
I never said it'd stop being a crown sink. But a lot of people have spent what they wanted to spend on UVs already so crown demand and consumption will slow down. Barring some other update or event CE prices will slowly go back up.
I have made my analysis, the decision is yours :D , good luck anyway.
Gambling is a hell of an addiction. The crown sink will continue.
Personally I think it's a good thing.
I think it was somewhat of a legitimate concern before that newer players couldn't play off their profits from runs. Now that is a much closer reality.
