Title of topic says everything. You know whats the case here. I loose lots of potential money today on "very soon" bids. What you gonna do about it?
Auction ending during or soon after downtime/reboot
Auctions are already extended if they would end during down time. I don't think OOO has released the exact details, and I suspect it isn't done perfectly (few things are), but it seems to be good enough.
I set low prices to attract buyers who bid on "very soon" auction, and they had no chance to do so because of reboot. So laugh, but carefully because u can choke.
It isn't good enough. Just as I log in after reboot, I have few inbox message from AH, and 2 minutes later rest of them. About 20 auctions. My items was sold for not much more than start price, when normally price would be much higher. What about that, is it any fair?
"What you gonna do about it?"
Not sure who are you addressing here... You know, it's not like we are responsible for your money. Neither are admins/devs.
It's like you are expecting someone to come and give you the money.
"What you gonna do about it?"
What are YOU gonna do about it?
Honestly, I want this transactions to get canceled.
12cr for 9 Rocket Sprocket? Shall I go on?
How to get in touch with Game Master?
What is the behavior with auctions during reboot now?
About a month ago I bid on a nice brandish, which was "Very Soon" when the reboot occurred. After the reboot (which lasted 1/2 hour) I log in to find that the time left had surprisingly increased to "Medium".
My auctions keep Very Soon status, and ended in few minutes after server was up. No one to bid = bad prices. 50 Light Shards for 110. 9 Rocket Sprocket for 12, 25 Brim Stone for 9, 4 Driftwood for 12cr. Just examples. This is pathetic and shouldn't occur.
This is always a possibility when you set your starting prices very low. If almost no one bids on them, you get lousy prices. With the reboot, it is not very surprising that you might not have as many people bidding, even if the bid durations are extended, simply because people leave early and come back late. That's hardly a technical issue that Three Rings should compensate you for.
This whole game is one big issue. Just done level with friend, he get 2 fine fabric, me some gel drops. Just pathetic, broken game.
Wait...
If you set a really low bid price in hopes of catching bidders with a price advantage... wouldn't that same price advantage disappear the moment people actually start bidding on it?
Far as I've seen, hasty buyers will look for the cheapest Buy-It-Now price, completely ignoring the remaining time on the auction. It's unlikely that you will be able to sell for higher than these buyout prices... because there is no advantage in bidding higher than the buyout price on another auction for an identical item.
"Just done level with friend, he get 2 fine fabric, me some gel drops."
If he was really your friend, he'd be willing to share.
If you put the starting bid too low and it sold for that then it is your own fault. Server reboot or no, there is always the chance that if you put something in the AH for an extremely low price that it might actually sell for that price. It is the same as if I put a PS3 on Ebay for $5 starting bid expecting it to jump higher. If it doesn't then it's my fault for starting the bids too low.
As for the item drops... all mats received by players in a party are random. I have been in a party where six 5* mats dropped and I didn't get a single one (3 person party) and another party where three 5* mats dropped and I got them all (and I had worse odds for that one, it was a 4 person party). You were just unlucky.

I'm with Gwen on this one.
I also set all of my auctions with a low bid price (1cr) to attract ppl whether they search by bid or bin.
Most of my auctions DO sell by the bin price, however I have sold items for 1/2 or less of the bin price because ppl bid, waited, and my item wasn't picked up by anyone else.
You know what I have to say to these ppl?
"Congratulations!!! You just got an uber cheap item XD"
The item drops in a party are completely random, first off. OOO has little to nothing to do with how it gets distributed since it's completely random.
Secondly, the Auction House is not only buyer-beware, but seller-beware as well. If you're going to put the bid up for the absolute lowest it can be to "get attention to it" (a concept that I can't wrap my mind around even as I type this post, since after the price goes up for the bid it's going to look less and less like a good steal anyway), then you assume the risk of losing money on it by not ensuring yourself the guarantee of making a profit by setting the starting price for as low as you'd be happy with getting for the items in question.
In short - the game's not broken, you're just bad at it.
Hint: Don't set the bid price so low that you won't be okay with someone buying it at that price.
So you set your min bid too low, and it's the game's fault?
I'm not going to call you a moron, but I'm certainly thinking it very loudly.
I'm gonna laugh
because you're out your ah fee and prolly set a bad price anyway XD
