I've gotten some events like
I've gotten some events like this in other MMO
so basically every 60 mins u logged on there will be a mail with ur reward, as simple as that.
idk if they use different mechanics for it.
good thing they have auto DC system or else server will overload lol

Why PDT!? If I want to get this special prizer I will have to wake up at 2 o'clock in the morning!!! (;_;)
I am totally going to kill OOO if that 2pm special prize is something good and important.

@EliteChamp - I would assume how it works is that for every hour you are logged on you get one "ticket" for the daily 2pm event. Then at 2pm they do the "drawing" and mail the winner the prize whether they are logged on or not.

The Strangers have decided to unload some of their supplies to the Spiral Knights who have valiantly defended Haven from the devious gremlin weaponry of the Ironclaw Munitions Factory. The Birdsong Trading Co. will be hosting a giveaway to all players this weekend!
Beginning Friday, July 22 at 2pm server time (PDT) and ending Sunday, July 24 at 9pm server time (PDT) all players logged in to the game will be eligible for hourly prize giveaways!
Giveaways will occur each hour and only players logged in and playing will be in the running for each prize. No purchase is necessary. Simply log in and play!
Prizes include crystal energy, items and upgrades with a special prize given away each day at 2pm server time (PDT)!
Remember, the only way to be in the running is to be logged in and playing the game! Good luck!
Based on the wording, I think that getting a ticket is not the case. At each hour, you will have a chance of getting a prize (CE, crowns, whatever) but at 2pm PDT, a special prize is given to a random player and you have to be online to have a chance to get it.

still i didnt understand that . Can yo guys pls explain me. In every hour there will be RANDOM player who get a prize or YOU get prize on EVERY hour ? So is it like if its 24 hours - 24 players who get prize (not the special one) or its 24 prizez for you (if you play 24 hours) ?!? {that with the 24 hours is an example}. So can ya explain me which one is it ? And btw that PDT time realy sux cuz 14:00 PDT is 24:00 in bulgaria >.<

How I read it:
Every hour there will be a draw and someone random who is currently logged in will win a prize.
At 2pm server time there wil be a special item given out to a random, logged in person.
2pm may suck for some people but no matter what time they choose it's going to be midnight somewhere in the world (that's how timezones work) so until SK becomes popular enough to have US, EU and Australasian servers some people are just going to have to set their alarms.

Only one person gets a prize, Man there must be hundreds and hundreds of players and just one person gets the prize. you got to be pretty lucky to get one. It would be better if 50 people got a prize (small), and one person gets a rare prize. Im not sure how it is going down though.
