In game: depth 9; just entered out of the arcade from Moorcroft Manor.
Was fine until I entered the dungeon level- the client just completely bogged down-- the whole 3-5 second delay between commands and movement.
I turned the graphic quality all the way down, which seems to have helped it out- there's no more moving background, in addition to closing down all my other running programs (including a Terminal window-- the Java client was taking up 96 of my %CPU).
My system might just be outdated, however:
MacBook
Vers 10.6.4
1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
java version "1.6.0_20" -- I think there's a 22(?) I'll run some updates later, I guess.
Are these system requirements not enough? I was fine until the latest update/release.
I know I've had issues with Java & my Mac before, they just don't like each other very well, but I wanted to bring this to your attention as that it did occur.
Thanks in advance,
Tortie
I am also on a mac, and have been experiencing extreme lag spikes, any level, in towns, doesn't matter. My sprite animations will cease, and I'll fly all over the map, then resume walking, but at maybe 1/4 normal speed, fly around a bit more, and then be back to normal. During this time, I do not take or deal out any damage, but when the lag spike ends, my damage received and dealt all piles on top of one another, and I return to my "actual" position on the map, usually dead lol.
I am on a commercial broadband wireless connection (at&t), shared with 6 people. Unfortunately, I do not have the option to connect via cable, it's my landlord's internet, and on his floor of the building we share. I didn't think 6 people could exhaust commercial broadband to this degree, or am I wrong? No one was torrenting/playing online while I was playing, just standard browsing.

Not sure what version of Java I'm running, but I've updated it recently, so I think I'm okay...
I was told by several players the levels of lag really didn't seem normal, until then I had chalked it up to my connection, but I'm curious to see if there's something more going on.
