Fix Shield UV's

For the love of god, please fix shield UV's.

Adding status resists to shields is useless.

Sleep, Stun, Poison, curse, and Freeze are practically worthless status resists on shields.

The status resists on shields are only useful against haze bomb-like effects to prevent their application to you.

Sleep doesn't exist, so GG on that.

Curse doesn't really do anything. It's possible it would help defend against phantom attacks, but I doubt it.

Stun, poison, and freeze are only really applicable to griever and zombie series enemies, as T3 grievers leave a haze effect behind, and zombies breathe status effects.

Fire and shock? Decently useful... If it wasn't for the fact that 90% of players are using either an Owlite Shield or Crest of Almire, which already HAS shock and fire resist.

I was so excited about Punch. So, so excited. Until I found out that shields have status UV's now.

So, instead of showering Punch with crowns until he upgraded my Grey Owlite Shield to have Shadow : Max and Pierce : Max, I refuse to touch the jerk.

2 useless UV's, 3 nigh-useless UV's, 2 undesirable UV's, and 2 non-preferred UV's, and 2 preferred UV's does not a good merchant make.

I suppose if you had a shield that only had normal defense, there would be 3 preferred UV's, but why on earth you would is beyond me.

I propose that Shield UV options be changed completely.

Rather than the following UV options...

Sleep
Curse
Stun
Poison
Freeze
Fire
Shock
Normal
Elemental
Piercing
Shadow

Change the above to things players would actually WANT.

Normal
Elemental
Piercing
Shadow
Health (Shield Health)
Shield Regeneration Rate (7.5% faster shield regen rate, capping at 45% faster for Maximum!)

Those are my basic ideas, things every player would like.

Why have 7 unique options out of 11 that would merely depress a player who just spent 15~375k, when you can have 6 unique options that they'll be happy with? Perhaps not the one they want, but not useless.

Also, though perhaps controversial, you could add a Unique Variant that gives a straight-up health bonus.

See : Heart Pendant, Scarlet Shield.

+2 HP (Low)
+3 HP (Med)
+4 HP (High)
+5 HP (Max)

This would do two things.

1. Decrease desirability for players to "farm" Love Puppies for their trinkets.

2. Increase the total Unique Options for Shields to be on-par with Bombs. (7 different options)

I don't believe anyone can 'farm' love puppies, ezpecially since they are so rare. Cap the health bonus at high and -1 HP for each of the levels, that may make it more balanced in my opinion.

Farming Love Puppies is pretty much the only reason many of us have trinkets.
You can totally farm them if you find one.

1. They're farmable, as desu states, people have done it all the time.

2. Scarlet Shield gives +2 health bonus at 3-star, if that was ever made up to 5-star it would give 3~4 bonus health already.

3. I don't see any reason why shields should be limited to 1~3 HP bonus on uniques (if it were added) when trinkets go from 2~6.

Either way, I don't really care if that was added, it's merely an idea.

Primarily, I want the removal of status effect UV's, and addition of Shield Health/Shield Regen Rate bonuses.

Shield health bonus is a given, there's no reason it shouldn't be available.

Shield Regeneration Rate is more complicated, but it would basically be a shield's version of ASI/CTR.

No, this is just a suggestion

No, this is just a suggestion to have these added to shields.

Armor/helm wouldn't be changed, as status resists are actually useful on your armor or helm, and having +15 HP from unique variants would be absurd.

Your standard armor gives you +5HP per piece, giving you 15 starting HP in tier 3. If this were added, having a Maximum! HP bonus unique would give you 20HP starting. Even with the rarest and best trinkets (true love, +6 HP) and two of them, that's still only 32HP.

If you threw Ancient Plate armor/helm into the mix (+3 HP each) that would bring you to 38 HP. Add in Scarlet Shield as your shield, and you have 40HP, which is the maximum you can have anyway.

So, if this unique variant was added, and you went all-out for bonus HP, you could have 40HP without vitapods. Without it, you'd need a +5HP vitapod to hit max, which you can find in Tier 1.

Of course, that's assuming you're using full ancient plate, with scarlet shield, and two true love lockets... good luck with that :)
