Heya guys.
I decided to challenge myself, to try and kill some mobs on tier 2, depth 9 with all default, 0 star gear. I think it worked out perfectly, however, 3 mobs in under 3 minutes is a bit time consuming. I shall try tier 3 with default gear soon!

ye well, that is not the point of the video, the point is, it is possible :)
The keys to success here:
1: Patience
2: Knowing mobs movement and attack patterns
3: Maneuver Space
Too often I forget #1 and am missing #3.
In response to Malleable, sure it would take time (alot of time) but I think that is part of a larger problem\complaint of the game. If people dash through it with maxed gear (or getting help quickly completing levels) while rip-roaring for the elevator, then they find themselves sitting in AH exacerbated, saying, "I don't have enough energy to play for more than an hour! What a rip!"
I play for hours with 100me. Granted I don't play in 0* gear. I am mostly a T1&2 player that has just gotten my 4* gear, and kinda regret it. I had much more fun doing the same with 3* gear.

Yea man, exactly the points that you listed down are the key to success while soloing, no matter with what gear, no matter on what depth. Of course it's easy with 5 star gear in 4 first depths of tier 3, but later on, it starts to get difficult, and those are the points you have to considerate :)
I am almost full 5 star, just need to get my 3rd and 4th weapon to level 10.
Also, I am planning on trying to do this on tier 3, however I know I can die from 1 hit there, 'cause proto shield doesn't last that long :P
If you think tier 2 is too easy, then you should go on to tier 3. That's what tier 3 is there for. If you've got four star gear, then you can.
And only three mobs? When I did my "tier 2 solo in starter gear" experiment, I at least did a whole level before I got bored and quit. A mecha knight capsule helped. :D
Man, I was planning on doing an entire level, however it'd take long, and I had to go, RL stuff. :P A friend challenged me, so I did it and shared. :P

Ive done a danger room in proto gear before, was quite fun. I also got the achievement for running tier 1 without dying first attempt on my current main using that same proto gear.
seriously, i never knew that was possible. hell, i never thought u were allowed 0 star equipment in a tier 2 depth!!!
actully u need 2 stars equipment.SOmeone that has access to tier and invite you or you already had access to tier 2.
You need two star gear to unlock tier 2. Once you've unlocked tier 2, you can use whatever gear you want there.
That is awesome. (Now do T3)
T3 is almost impossible to do with full default unless your are a very skilled player.I saw a full default guy do solo vanaduke.
I can go way faster... Kill. Duke with proto and I'm impressed. I'll rate it all 5*s etc. Then.
It would only take you another 6 hours to complete the whole depth.
