When you upgrade a calibur to a tempered calibur, does the heat level affect anything about the tempered calibur?
Nope, the level of the item increases the damage/defense of that item, and determines if you can upgrade the weapon (4* and 5* recipes only). Upgrading an item at level 1 will give you the same product as upgrading it at level 10.
