The Freeze path is the best one, gives you time to meander and dodge enemies while they derp in place, allowing you to set up your next bomb. It takes longer to kill them however, but it's the safest route for bombers to solo or help your team dive in the Clockworks.
However, if you enjoy watching your enemies slowly die in a painful fire...

The poison path would be best for Jelly King, but for any other purpose, I don't think the poison path is really worthwhile.
The AOA line might also be good against the King due to its constant damage.
Fire would be recommended for the Boss since you would be hacking and slashing constantly, it would be bad to stall him since Ice (Even strong ice for some reason, could you guys fix that?) will break if they get hit, and he restores health

I think he covered it nicely, being able to plop down 2 more bombs as the first one is still going is quite beneficial. Also freeze is incredible for crowd control and with bombs it reapplies itself so it works quite well.
ctr is the only meaningful uv for haze bombs since their initial damage isn't their focus anyway. Damage bonus uv's don't change the status damage (fire / ice)
imo - for cc the ice and shock are good. For damage the fire and shock are good.
Charge time reduction is pretty much the only UV you should aim for on any bomb. Shivermist Buster is good for control, but if you don't suck and want good damage the Ash of Agni is the way to go.
What if somebody has a Mad Bomber set? The Charge time reduction on both the set and a Lv10 bomb combined would already bump it up to Maximum wouldn't it? As as far as I know, having any bonus beyond that won't stack after it has reached Maximum.
That is true, but not everyone is ballsy enough to use Mad Bomber.
Ash of agni is my prefered option. Watching everyone burn slowly to death is quite satisfying. Also freeze bomb is not that great for teams when you are trying to kite things (like in danger room and arenas) as too many people don't think and plant the freeze bomb on the path team is running. Just like calibur line, it is great for solo but god damn annoying for team play.
Freeze bomb + Calibur line sword, is the best combined weapon.
Freeze bomb will triple the effectiveness of calibur line charge attack.
you will be able to go solo, or you can also triple the effectiveness of all your team party that using calibur line sword, leviathan or Cold iron carver.
since if you release calibur line charge attack up close to the frozen enemies, they deal triple damage (3x hit) instead of normal 1 hit. and IF you knock the enemy back to the epicenter of the bomb with the charge attack, the knocked back enemies will immediately get frozen again, thus you can unleash another charge attack again.
Haze bombs and all of their upgrades are used to inflict status effects. They are rarely used for their damage. If they are used for damage then they are doing indirect damage though status effects. All of the damage UVs, such as increased damage vs slimes, do not affect this damage. Further, you don't want an Attack Speed Increase UV on a haze bomb because it probably makes the bomb less effective, not more effective.
Therefore, the best (and only meaningful) UV on a haze bomb would be Charge Time Reduction.
As for the best upgrade to the haze bomb:
- The haze bomb has a low charge time and is great in team fights. You might want to keep it as is.
- The freeze line the best option for crowd control. Even if your team breaks the ice they'll be grateful when that shivermist freezes those 10 wolvers in place.
- The fire path is the best option for dealing damage when you are in a team. It's true that you can take other bombs to do damage, but fire bombs don't send enemies flying everywhere. They don't flash neon colors every 5 seconds. Still, keep in mind that fire bombs are useless against fire monsters such as ashtails and scorchers.
- The poison path is only for jelly king, and even then there are better options. The Poison from a poison bomb does not last long enough to use strategically in most situations. Poison bombs do not provide any meaningful damage, nor do they provide any crowd control. So, I do not recommend getting a poison bomb unless you are a collector.
