Energy Between different accounts linked?

So i have my own account to play spiral knights, and my brother has an account through steam, we both use the same launcher and seems as though our energy is linked. because whenever i go down in the clockworks he loses energy for no reason when he logs in after i do.
is there a good reason for this?

Buying crystal energy with crowns doesn't give each account its own separate mist energy pool, however.
Yes, there is a good reason for this. Three Rings doesn't want people to be able to evade the energy limits by making multiple accounts. You can make the two accounts each have its own separate mist energy pool if you buy crystal energy with real money. I'm not sure if just one account has to do it, or if both do, but it is just a one time purchase to separate the mist energy accounts.
