Shouldn't ascended at least be bigger to distinguish between the swords?

yes, I believe cutter and

yes, I believe cutter and striker do the exact same thing, I wouldn't mind a little more variation.

We need more good looking swords!

Yeah, I was disappointed by this fact, too.
Ascended Cali should look a bit different than Tempered Cali... it should be bigger or more shiny or with some fancy carvings on the blade or whatever.

It's the stats that are

It's the stats that are important. If you did not notice, the stats for Ascended are greater than Tempered.

Look at Frostburst Brandish and Blizzbrand
Look at Fireburst Brandish and Blazebrand

The only difference is one glowy line...but the stats and effects are very different.

@Selenthon - It is not

@Selenthon - It is not called Frostburst Brandish, it is called Iceburst Brandish

I agree that the developers should distinguish Tempered Calibur from Ascended Calibur so people would stop asking me if it is Tempered or Ascended. Maybe make the blue line in the middle of Ascended longer?

Yeah!

I mean srsly. I really wanted to get a Tempered calibur, but ascended caliburs look exactly the same.

Think: The description said that Ascended are made from, what, rare mineral or superior metal or something. Shouldn't it make sense then that it should at least be shiner? Have a different size maybe? or keep in with the trend of the calibur line and be bigger and have a longer glowing strip.

C'mon. You have to admit that the design doesn't leave all that much to desire the weapon. The only thing that would make you want to get it is that it's better than the tempered calibur.

I mean, I saw the Leviathan an was just like OMG i wanna get one of those to bash stuff with! I love massive swords...

It has to have visual appeal. It's supposed to be better than a tempered calibur! Make it look better too!

ummm you are abit wrong

ummm you are abit wrong there, ascended caliburs are shiny, they sparkle while tempered ones dont, its up to how hard you stare at it to figure it out

Maybe

K. I'm not sure about verifying that statement, because I can't log in at the moment. But still. The difference is too minute. It's like adding another fluff spike on the wolver equipment (Example. This doesn't actually occur). There has to be a distinct difference that lets you know that it is different. People don't stare at a sword for five minutes just so they can say 'Yeah, that's a tempered calibur.'

Srsly

Unless you stare as hard as your eyeballs let you, there isn't a noticeable difference. AT least make the green line longer. Between the length of the Tempered and Leviathan. That'll keep the calibur trend.

I still don't get it...

I looked, but to me, they look EXACTLY the same...no difference whatsoever...

Please follow the trend! Not that much to ask for I think!!

Eh, are the looks of a sword

Eh, are the looks of a sword you're going to upgrade eventually really important? The only important thing is Leviathan looks amazing. So just upgrade that Tempered/Ascended to a Levi and you've got your look change. :P

YES

Of course it matters! If ALL the swords looked the same but the 5* ver looked awesome and different, would you complain? YES.

I mean, the whole calibur line follows the trend of: Bigger blade, shinier edge, longer blue line, except the ascended! Blue line longer is literally the LEAST I'm asking for. The length of it so far goes like, 1/3rd, then 3/5, 3/5, then 100%. maybe a 60% length for Ascended?

And I want Leviathan anyway. That will be my first 5* sword. Once I get past 4* anyway...

Half of page 2 as well^^

I'm just hyper cuz I'm cold. Replying to everything I have a mild interest in that I can still say something about.

I actually wouldn't complain,

I actually wouldn't complain, most of the swords look lame until the 5* anyways. Cutter stays the same, just changes color, Branish lines besides Nightblade look the exact same except the color, all the rapiers look the same, Sealed sword lines look the same. The only weapons that actually look different than the more used ones are the 1* weapons, but everyone knows those are a non-factor. If they continued those lines and made unique looking weapons, maybe.

Fine. Be that way. Hmph. But it should at least follow the trend, I'm not asking it to grow a mustache.

I wish it would grow a mustache, like the impostocube. That would be legit. Instead of a hilt, its just a mustache.

Impostosword....

Hack...hack....slash...no attack...wait.........THIS ISN'T A SWORD! *GASP*

It the...IMPOSTOSWORD!

Description: A sword whose hilt was replaced with a mustache. This sword refuses to fight anything that may damage it at all, and has a rare chance of spawning whenever you pull out your sword.

The key reason 4* swords need

The key reason 4* swords need to look different to their 3* versions - in tier 3, 3* weapons don't increase in damage from tier 2 or even get nerfed. 4* weapons will do near triple the damage of their 3* components in tier 3.

The other players need to be able to tell, at a glance, that you're using a weapon suitable for the tier.

It could be anything; the little swirls of energy that the cold iron carver has, a generally glowiness on the blade or heck, as long as there's any difference I don't care if it's bright pink and sprays rainbows everywhere.

...on second thought, using that last one might scare off half the playerbase. But it DOES need to be different from the tempered calibur.

You want to talk about

You want to talk about looking the same, the Final Flourish is a Grand Flourish with a little sparkle at the end. At least make it glow a little!

Also, Iceburst = single bladed sword, Blizzbrand has two "tines" with the blue glow between. Fire/Shock are the same. There's a pretty big difference in design between all of the Brandishes' line.

Like I said...

All they need to do to the Ascended is lengthen the blue glowing line, and even possible increase it's size, somewhere in proportion to halfway inbetween Levi and tempered

...sarcasm?

Dude, they just look the same. For a different weapon, I just want a different look. Calibur was normal. Tempered got shiny and longer with longer blue strip. Ascended looks the same as tempered. Leviathan is MASSIVE with a FULL blue line. Ascended should at least LOOK like it's the weapon between Tempered and Leviathan.

LMAO!

Try pointing while holding it. Your weapon gets tiny and it sticks out of your hand. Looks Hilarious. Tried it with my firotech too.
