Where are you from? Is English your first language?
I'm from Brazil, and English is not my first language (it's Portuguese, although I am an English teacher).

English is my first language, but a lot of people say that, and it doesn't speak for their mastery of it, I'm afraid. I know smidges of Spanish, Korean, and German, and I'm trying to learn Japanese on my own. As you can imagine, that isn't working so well.
Thank you for the link, I should have looked it up before - it's just that there are such few 'personal' threads on the forum that I thought people hadn't discussed it yet.
