ok the story is i already have the Dragon Scale Shield for my vog set
but i found out that my shield breaks easily to normal attacks
however i dont use my shield very much
so should i get the Barbarous Thorn Shield or is the dragon scale shield gud enough???

Personally I love my
Personally I love my Barbarous shield, even for FSC. It can take at least one hit from pretty much any attack in FSC, excluding Vana's Mace, and that is personally all I need a shield to do. For reference it can also take about 3-4 hits from zombies, though on the 4th it will break.

Volcanic plate is good
i'm quite happy with my volcanic plate shield. can withstand vana's mace two times in a row (never tried 3 times in a row), and in FSC, very good against trojan. The shield barrier is still blue when defending against a trojan slammed sword. defend the slammed sword 3 times in a row, then it goes yellow. good for the role of aggroing the trojan.
oh wait... the question was dragon scale vs barbarous eh? sorry about that.
i haven't tried barbarous, but dragon scale isn't that good against elemental i think. my dragon scale can only withstand 3-4 gun puppy bullets in t3 even on level 10. i'm kinda confused about this, it supposed to have a good withstand against elemental attack right?

other than the looks this shield if useless :(
i decided to get it as a noob and stuck with this option
just the waste of my crowns and ce :(
m gonna get it to level 10 then if i think its still useless m gonna get another shield

Personally i'm going for
Personally i'm going for barbaous thorn shield. Seem to have good defense, And offers good sword damage output, if you want to max out your damage with swords.

If you don't use a shield
If you don't use a shield much I would get barbarous, as it is the best shield in the game other than swift strike buckler being that it is the only shield that has an impact on your DPS. Even if you do rely on your shield a lot I would get a barbarous. I definitely wouldn't continue making dragon line shield. It's not very good without normal defense. It might be good in the future in T3 (or T4?) if they release a boss that does piercing damage and fire damage combined (unlikely).
Get volcanic plate shield and/or grey Owlite. Prefer VPS first.
