Hi all guys and girls,
I don't know if this have been posted yet but i would like to have this simple feature implemented if possible.
I would like to chose which pieces of gear i can heat up during a level. The implementation could be rather easy when you are in zone where you can change your gear like terminal, Heven or similar you can place a flag on gear pieces and only that pieces would get heated up.
Logically if you flag all your gear pieces you would be like it is now.
What do you think?

No.

That would make the game stupidly easy and allow you to get your gear to 5* max with very little effort. The challenge comes from the fact that your gear heats more slowly, and if you want it to heat up faster you have to unequip your other gear that needs leveling.

Something more interesting would be that gear is heated proportional to usage in the fight. Selective heat seems ideal, but it makes the game easier/faster than it already is.

Why?

I'm sorry maybe i don't understand well how heat works.
Let's say that i have all my gear at level 10 and i change 1 piece with a level 1 item.In this case all the heat i would get will be concentraded on the only item i have that needs heat.
Am I wrong?
How can this speed up the heating process?
To make a 5* item i will always need a 4* at level 10.If I can chose what item to heat up first i will stop the others.
The total heat needed will alway be the same so again how can this make the game stupidly easy and allow you to get your gear to 5* max with very little effort?
Can you explain me please?

If you could select what gets

If you could select what gets heat, you could craft that item to 5* in no time. Right now the challenge is that you either have to keep farming heat, or you switch out good gear for low level things that are already at 10 (making it harder to survive) in order to level up the other item you want.

Yes i can boost 1 item to 10

Yes i can boost 1 item to 10 and leave the others to level 1 that is the purpose of what i was suggesting.
Yes i can craft 1 item to 5* in a lower time but the rest of the gear would be at level 1.
I don't think that is a challenge because heat in this game is like experince in any other game and at some point you have a cap.
I'm just asking if i can chose what item i can heat first and i don't think this will ever change the balance of the game.

Honestly I find heat to be so

Honestly I find heat to be so overabundant that I never have any problems getting my stuff maxed, it seems unbelievable to me that people could actually have so little problems with everything else that heat actually appears as a notable problem.

@Unicornkitty: "That would make the game stupidly easy and allow you to get your gear to 5* max with very little effort. The challenge comes from the fact that your gear heats more slowly, and if you want it to heat up faster you have to unequip your other gear that needs leveling.

I swear I'm not trolling, but getting heat faster would make the game "stupidly easy"? I think I missed the explanation where getting a little more heat is the difference between victory and defeat.

You need heat to craft items

You need heat to craft items (3* level 5 to become 4*, 4* level 10 to become 5*), and at you get additional CTR bonuses for having your gear at level 5 or 10.

So being able to selectively heat items means you can craft/heat that game-changing piece that much faster, instead of having to work for it in crappier gear.

But there's so much heat, and

But there's so much heat, and if it's that important then shouldn't you just use one item that needs heat? I mean unless you try to get multiple sets of armor from tier 2 to tier 5 daily I don't think is really something to even mention.

Actually, not a bad suggestion.

Actually not true. Although this feature will allow you to level one piece of equipment faster than the rest, you still need to level all your equipment up eventually. Not only that, but you need to buy the recipes to make better equipment from basil or the auction house. So, if you select your sealed sword to level up (for instance,) you can turn it into a divine avenger faster. So you can run around T2 with 3* armor and a divine avenger. But you're still not getting T3 access until you level all your gear up to 4*, and that will take the same amount of time with or without selecting which pieces of equipment you should level up first. It's just that you got your divine avenger before (say) your grey owlite shield.

@unicornkitty : There is no

@unicornkitty : There is no item that is "game-changing" any itmes you have is downgraded by the tier you are into. Any item mean armor, shield and weapons.
Look here if you don't belive me http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Clockworks .
Anyway yesterday i have done a test i was using a Fireburst Brandish (3*) and a friend of mine a Combuster(5*) in a Tier 1 Arena on the same enemy i was dooing 67 damage and he was dooing 68.
Having Highter star gear don't make this game easier , but only gives you the possibility to go deeper.

Okay, I'm going out on a limb here, but, unicornkitty; are you trolling? Or just stupid?

*sigh* more bashing...

People just have different ideas... Personally I could care less on whether this idea is integrated or not. No offence to the OP though, I just mean it won't make a difference to me if this goes ahead or not. None of my gear can be heated, so all of mine just goes to waste, and new gear will probably go one by one.

Though the idea is probably a good one. If you're lets say, a gun specialist, it would make sense to distribute more heat to your better weapon to increase combat effectiveness. and Vice versa...

Stupidly easy? Damages is underpowered when in stages below what they were created for. My 2* gear kills t1 thing in 2 hits, but that's only because they are maxed levelled. T2 and 3 are in a whole new league. My 2* gear can be a s powerful as they want, I was still pwned to shreds when a friend managed to drag me to fire citadel.

And you still need the mats, energy and recipe + cr to craft a better weapon.

And stop berating each other...? Berate the post...I guess. The person....I don't guess. I just read a thread where 2 people are just going all out bashing each other. Not funny...
