Inability to Change Instance, Move From Place to Place and Progress through Arcade Levels (steam)

Whenever I try and change instances, the game will freeze (players walking through walls / stop moving) and not let me change.

The same thing happens when I try to move from place to place. EX: trying to go from Haven Arcade to Market

This problem also happens when I try to go down the elevators in the Arcade and below.

Any suggestions? I'm kind of stumped

EDIT: Okay so even weirder, everything works on a new character I made, but not my original :S

Double EDIT: So I take that back. this is a problem between all characters. I'm reinstalling the game right now.

hmm glitches out during zone

hmm glitches out during zone changes. Paste the projectx.log in the spiral knights folder to someplace like pastebin.com and provided the link so we can look at it.

Anyways, an added note is that I made an account on this site that isn't my steam account yet it is running on the same PC (my mistake) That might be causing problems but idunno. Also, I'm kind of a soopernoob at computers and the interwebs so stick with me if I have a couple stupid questions :)

The accounts won't interfere

The accounts won't interfere with each other unless you play with both... in which case you share the same pool of mist energy.

One thing I'm noticing is that your reconnecting the session at every zone move. Were you trying to change havens or just walk over to another area?

Lists...lists...

Doing both really. I've been experimenting to find as much info as I can. Things I have trouble doing.

-Changing havens
-Accessing Shops
-Going from area to area
-Opening up terminals
- Talking (text in game chat)
- Opening up arcade terminals
- Using elevators
- Interacting with other players

The worst part is that the game was working for the first two days I got it. After that it started crapping out.

How is your home network

How is your home network setup? And do you have any software firewall programs, or any antivirus that does network monitoring?

Update

uhh usually it's 2 up and 10 - 15 down but I realized that my bro was downloading some stuff.

However, i may have figured out the problem.

I went and searched through my McAfee to find its history and logs.

In the Incoming events tab it shows a bunch of Ports being blocked for access to my computer.

Such as 51396 51023 59859

and IP's all similar from Spiral knights (pretty sure) which are all like 174.35.xx.xxx

If you look in

If you look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\rsrc\config\presents it has a list of the servers SK likes to contact.

As long as you don't change

As long as you don't change anything in the registry, you'll be ok. You can use the list of IPs to check against the firewall logs to see if its reacting to anything involving the SK servers. However, it shouldn't be generating a lot of inbound connections.

You have all the all the basic symptoms of extremely high latency or a flooded internet connection (or a botnet infection). If you shut down all running programs and downloads, then use the network tab of task manager, how much bandwidth is in use on that machine (and/or other machines in the house). If you see large amounts of bandwidth being used up, you need to find out whats eatting it up and try to shut it down.
