Greetings fellow knights,

Our apologies for taking a couple of weeks to announce winners for the Gremlin Haiku Competition. So many great entries made it very difficult for Eurydice, TheBadger and Raspberry to narrow down the winners. Frankly, you are all winners to us. If the Obsidian Guild could afford to award everyone a prize, we would. Unfortunately, we could only afford to pick 5.

Since we took awhile to sort through all the haiku, we have upgraded the prizes to include:

The Spiral Haiku Master Receives:
* 100,000 Crowns
* 1000 CE (bonus)
* A Wallpaper Honoring the Winning Haiku

Honorable Mentions Receive:
* 15,000 Crowns (up from 10,000 crowns enough for 1 UV roll from Punch)

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dogrock from EOS for his data entry and showhide prowess, Equinox for diligently maintaining the Wiki, the folks at OOO for participating in the event and Eurydice for taking the time to help us judge all the entries.

The winners and Gremlin Haiku and Fun-ku Library can be found here.

The wallpaper honoring the winning jisei haiku was done from the perspective of Vatel who lost his shop in some freak accident. Jisei is a form of Japanese death poetry penned as a lucid and important observation in the last moments of life. Luckily for Vatel, a Groundbreaker Mender was in the area. Doing the storyboard screen shots took some time as chat and system spam was difficult to shoot through. Also, a majority of the actors were gremlins who kept going off cue, running in the wrong direction or blowing things, themselves and TheBadger up by accident.

Raspberry will be sending out in game mails to the winners if we can't find them in game when we are on.

Warmest regards and mahalo,
Raspberry and TheCrashTestDummy (formerly known as TheBadger)

Congrats to the winners! Wow, two EoS members get honorable mentions; very exciting.

That was a great contest, I still don't know how you managed to condense the field down to five.

Yay, I won second place. o.o

Congratulations to the winner and all the other honorable mentions! It was a fun contest, I sure don't envy the judges having to pick from so many good haikus. XD

Congrats.

Congrats to the winners.
Thanks for the great contest.
I look forward to the next one.

The one and only, Guardianknight.

P.S. I think the judges should win a prize for
being able to pick a winner out of all those
great entries.

This was just awesome.
Thank you so much Iceni.
Your contests - love them.

Seriously, though. It's fantastic to get the poetry involved in the forums.
I... don't often take well to "losing" as it were, but these have had a way of setting me completely outside of any emotions I typically associate with "failure" (perhaps I'm just growing.) I've appreciated the opportunity a lot.

It's mostly personal, I guess, but hey, they were a hoot.
Keep doing 'em, please.
You have my support.

'Grats winners. They were fantastic. (Although, in fairness, Katmint's entry had me so much in stitches I woulda given it first)
