Why aren't they weak to shadow? In a two man party it takes like 2 combos (or 4-5 hits is prolly more accurate; still) from Silent Nightblade to kill one of them, in that respect, they're the same as the normal sized ones in the level, which is a bit ridiculous. haha
Mini jellies
Ya that's pretty sad as well. I think they should give us either a weakness or some crown for our trouble. haha
Not to mention there's about 3 of them for every normal sized jelly, and they're so small a lot of times I have trouble seeing them 'charge' their attacks. When I get hit, it's almost always by one of those things.
I noticed that! It takes me and my sword about 5 hits to kill the jelly!
not to mention they have the same hit range (as a fully grown jelly), do just as much damage (as a fully grown jelly), are (arguablly) harder to hit and have the same HP (... as a full grown jelly).
When I hit them with my Shivermist, they trigger as weak to elemental, just like constructs. I know JK does have the same vulnerabilities as jellys, so I wonder if the royal minis are more like him.
How often do the suggestions in the Suggestion forum actually get looked into by OOO? Because I'd reeeaaaally like getting the mini jellies a shadow weakness.
A few facts:
- Mini jellies seem to have more armor
- They may or may not have a Shadow weakness, but my Acheron kills them in 2 hits, Leviathan Blade takes 3-4. (I think)
- It might be the same issue as with the gremlin Menders, where hitting Shadow actually deals more damage without showing it. (As far as I've seen)
And a reply to Aquajag: Royal Jelly does NOT share jelly weakness, although it looks like you just forgot a word when typing.
But yeah, they are uselessly annoying at times.
I'm pretty sure they don't have a shadow weakness, because my Silent Nightblade only does like 80ish damage to them, and over 100 to normal jellies.
I'll get more accurate numbers, but I'm sure those are close enough to what I'm doing in the royal jelly levels.
The minis have an apparent weakness to elemental instead of shadow--I can get bonus damage with my Combuster on them, but others don't when using an Acheron.
This then puts the minis as either constructs or undead. I'd have to play the levels with my radiant silvermail (+ damage to undead) vs. any other armor to know exactly which enemy type the game considers the minis to be.
I have always found this rather curious.
Elemental? Ya that doesn't make any sense. =/ Huh...
I would just like to throw it up there that while using my twisted snarble barb on fiends, the damage is a different color (I assume to indicate it is "more effective" even if it is lower damage and star amount than my ascended calibur.)
However, for whatever reason even though the damage is lower, it still seems to be leagues far more effective at killing fiends.
With that said I've been considering a faust or some other sword to more effectively do runs up to and possibly including the JK.
Fiends are weak to piercing, which is what the snarble barb line does. The calibur is just normal damage. The yellowish numbers indicate that the enemy is taking extra damage. For more info:

You can also click on the ? icon in the game and go to the Monster section--that lists enemy strengths and weaknesses as well.
i was more commenting on the fact its peculiar they die easier from the barb despite it doing lower damage.
Ah, that's probably a DPS issue. You can get more hits in with the barb vs the calibur in the same amount of time, given that it's a much faster sword. The individual hits may be less, but they add up pretty quickly.
I was kind of hoping there may be some other mechanics at work which would carry over to weakness exploitation in monsters, but your probably right.
Oh well.
Spoiler Alert: Mini Jellies are weak to Elemental Damage.
My Ash of Agni does tremendous damage to them in the middle of jelly runs, it's awesome and makes Solo Bombing so much more satisfying.
why does the royal mini have a weaknes like the undead or construct, unless, the JK is making bionic JELLIES!!!!
CUBPOCOLYPSE
(coming soon)
ya know what easily kills all the mini jellies hella quick? the Shock bomb 5* version preferable, it's because they all like to clump together and they start shocking each other. usually for me 1 proper placement of a shock bomb wipes all the mini jellies in a JK fight as well in certain parts of the lvls leading up to JK
They are a pain in the butt to kill, but I guess that adds varity to the game....(like how the bosses dont usually always have the same weaknesses as what they are catorigized as).....although they are tough for bite size peices.
I haven't seen this mentioned yet, and instead of making an entirely new thread about it I'll just revive this one.
Has anyone else noticed how they completely disrupt the mob-piercing projectiles from the Avenger- and Faust-lines? These projectiles are supposed to pierce through enemies and push them back for additional damage, however, the mini jellies act as literal walls and cancel off the bullets on impact, making it impossible to make use of the full potential of the Avenger-/Faust-charge.
Do you guys think this is intentional, or a mistake on Three Rings' part? I'm personally leaning towards the latter, as these are the only mobs without shields that behave in this manner.
Unless, of course, I am missing something here, such as a patch from Beta.
I dont mind them being that tough, i just mind not getting at least 1-5 crowns from them : /
