Ok, I know the basics, Vile Striker, poison/curse vials etcetc but

What kind of armor is well suited to do the boss? he stages prior are easy, no worries there.

sweet, thanks

Obviously you want as much

Obviously you want as much piercing defense as possible, since (iirc) that's the only type of damage there besides normal. If you're a swordsman, the Snarble shield has this and gives you a nice damage boost.
Something like a Virulisk set might be useful since it has piercing defense and gives you a damage boost to slimes; if you had a full Deadly Virulisk set and a Barb Shield, you'd have a maximum damage bonus against slimes. I don't think the slime-only boosts affect the King himself, but it's handy for slicing through the other ones around him (and for the previous stages obviously).

For the same reason Virulisk

For the same reason Virulisk is useful as outlined by Classy, the Skolver Set is a good choice. Piercing resistance plus sword damage boosts to everything, including the King.

The Wolver and Chroma lines

The Wolver and Chroma lines are your best bet as mentioned already since they both offer Piercing defence and damage boosts. They both also branching paths with upgrades that are useful in Firestorm Citadel; the tier 3 boss stratum.

Vog ftw!!! No i'm not joking,

Vog ftw!!!

No i'm not joking, when you get profficient with a heavy sword you can take in a gran faust and barely get hit with vogs giant ASI boost :D

Wear a few of the 5* jelly bands tho just to be on the safe side :P

Do people always use vile

Do people always use vile strikers at JK?

@randomthing

To get a Gran Faust player has to beat Royal Jelly at least seven times.
I guess that someone who has already successfully beaten Royal Jelly seven times doesn't need advice on gear setup ;-D

No. On any given PUG it is rare that someone actually brought a Vile Striker. One person should bring one though, it practically ensures a win by keeping the JK poisoned without relying on poison vials.

Now why did I not thinks of that? :P

Been a while since my first jelly run I guess :D

BUT, people can now buy sealed swords for about 1k ce.... tbh I'm really against that, am I the only one who thinks that that has cheapened all the boss reward weapons.... having a sealed sword used to mean you'd beaten RJ a lot, now it can mean you've just bout the starter kit and made an investment :(

My opinion - boss reward weapons should not be able to be unbound. period.

*Edit* sorry, my rant went off topic, gonna make my own thread about it :P

To be honest, armor doesn't

To be honest, armor doesn't really matter if you have all 2* stuff and up. The weapons and the vials you keep are the trick.

Have everyone in your party keep as close to 3 Fire/3 Poison/3 Curse/3 Health Pills as possible when you hit the king's chamber, and you should be good to go.
