I'm thinking of making my Mega Magnus into Iron Slug, but I'm worried about it.
I'm a gunslinger, and the M.Magnus is my gun for wolvers/devils/gremlins; Since its shot stuns them/knocks them down, and they cant dodge them like they normally would. I prefer the normal dmg from the Iron Slug sinces its more versatile, but so far I don't know if it has the same effect I like in the M.Magnus, as in hitting dodging monsters. (I know callahan does, though) can anyone let me know if it still carries the knock down effect from the M.Magnus if it's turned into Iron Slug? Thanks!
Iron Slug VS callahan

Eh, I'm not sure if the Iron Slug stuns self thing is all too true - I remember people saying it wasn't.
Callahan does piercing - very useful for its damage bonuses and/or knockdown effect on gremlins, wolvers, and devilites.
Basically, if you went Iron Slug, you lose bonuses vs Wolvers and Devilites, but gain damage versus Constructs and Jellies.
Is there any other weapon you'd rather use for constructs and jellies than a normal-damage-dealing-2-shot gun? If so, then don't go with Iron Slug.
I craftet iron slug. I tried to stun myself with it, It did not seem to work. Neither did using it as a weapon. After a few runs, I never took it with me again so far, it's still lvl3... my callahan on the other hand reached lvl 10 and I'm still taking it out to hunt devilites sometimes.
If you're carrying two or more guns, then there isn't much of a reason to carry a normal damage weapon. By having just two weapons of pure damage types (piercing & elemental, piercing & shadow, or elemental & shadow) then you'll do normal or excellent damage on all enemy types. If you're only going to be carrying one gun then the Iron Slug may suit you better, but if you're using it for wolvers/fiends then definitely go with the Callahan.
Nope, if you're only carrying one gun, you're still better of getting callahan. Shooting at jellies & contructs is entirely optional, and the magnus line (no matter if callahan or iron slug) is best (or "the least bad" in case of iron slug) for devilites, wolvers, gremlins anyways.

Listen to me my friend, there are so many reasons why to take an Callahan and NOT an Iron Slug.
1. Callahan deals 30% more damage to the main-gun-enemies -> Devilites and Wolver.
2. Iron Slug sux.
3. Callahan has a chance to stun at EVERY single shot, Iron Slug doesn't.
4. Callahan deals 30% more damage to Silk-Wing wich is a healer and easily can be sniped with that gun.
5. Iron Slug sux badly.
6. If you are a Gunslinger, you will have at least 3 guns with you. One is shadow, one elementary and one piercing. Now guess wich one will be the piercing one. :D
7. I'm not sure if this is right, but it seems the charge attack of the Slug may stun you too, while the Callahan just has a very high stun chance,
8. Did i've already said that Iron Slug sux?
9. Callahan looks much cooler with the blue Bullets *_*
Any questions? :P

Good set up for Gunslinger:
Callahan vs Devilites, Beast, Gremlins
Polaris/Storm Driver vs Constructs, Undead
(Optional) Umbra Driver vs Slimes
(Optional) Shivermist - Utility
Keep in mind the Iron Slug bullets can stun the user on a Charge shot.
